I just saw that the park extended their hours from 9 to 10 PM today because of the expected crowd. A park that actually cares about their customers enough that they go to the extra expense of additional park operating time so the customers have more time to enjoy the attractions on a busy day. Completely the opposite of the way Six Flags parks are managed.

Not to discredit this because it is indeed awesome, but it honestly probably also makes sense from a business perspective. If it’s that busy, the amount of money they make from another hour’s worth of food and drinks probably makes a profit. Some European parks do this commonly, for example Europa Park states that they will be open until at least 6pm and then announces an official closing time in early afternoon, which from experience this weekend was 8pm on Saturday and 7:30pm today

I know people that have given me a small glance at how much time and money the park put to this it's enough to boggle my mind in some respects. Customer service is their TOP PRIORITY and success matrix and this award is well deserved. I will say also what I have said before that mindset also goes all the way up to Dolly and her family. It is not unusual for a family member to come to park unknown and walk around and grade the performance and send a report back they are owners in more then name and actively hands on.

BGW does it fairly freaquently especially on those 9:00 Christmas Town closing

It is not unusual for a family member to come to park unknown and walk around and grade the performance and send a report back they are owners in more then name and actively hands on.

I know Carl would do this when he was alive and would specifically make sure park employees who went above and beyond got recognized for it.

Exactly. It makes business sense to give the customer the best experience possible. It’s really common sense. If the park is super crowded, extend the hours so the people can enjoy it more. The park has brought in the revenue to do so that day.

I think the problem with Six Flags is that they are so season pass dependent that they just don’t care about things like this once they get people’s money. If the park is super crowded and full of season passholders, there’s no incentive to extend hours. they do things that aren’t good long term business because they save a dillars bucks in the short run.

Sometimes it really does just come down to public vs. private company.
