New San Marco Dining Deck

San Marco is getting a new sitting area installed for 2014. It'll be located on a new deck that will be built in this general area:

So, this will connect with the current sitting area near the wine/beer stand? Wonder if any of it will be covered and will it have a view of the river (trees slashed)?

Any info on how big it will be? Depending on how many trees have to be taken out (hope not many) that could be a nice spot for viewing fireworks.

Could this become a chain of new social spaces in the park? Aquitaine cafe/seating area, now this. I'm a fan for sure. Developments that don't exactly demand an ROI, while risky, do wonders for immersion.

I've concluded they are making this deck so it's easier to eat in San Marco and avoid watching one of the terrible shows...

The snarky question is why anyone over the age of 8 would want to eat in San Marco anyway. Well except the gelato; I like that.

In all honesty, I did that once during the show. Guess I should have been paying more attention to my fork full of chicken Parmesan and less to the "Funny Drummer" smashing his cymbals!

This will be nice during the Food and Wine festival. Although this area was better than others since the Italy eating area is right there, it did seem to get crowded quickly near the booth and it always stinks having to balance tiny trays of delicious food while trying to find a seat.
