I previously pointed out permits filed with Hanover County (and now have confirmation through the updated park map) about Pizza Parlor's renovation, Funnel Cake Kitchen's move to the former Border Burrito, and the new Biergarten taking over the former Funnel Cake location on International street.

Three more renovation permits have since been filed and appeared on the county website:
Two International street merchandise location renovations:

Coke Refresh Renovation:

It is unclear which Coke Refresh is getting modifications, but with the other work on International Street, it could possibly be that one? Perhaps they are getting freestyle machines as well, since it mentions new equipment.

The timing of these permits is surprising, as if it was for this current season, work would only just be getting started and definitely not be ready (or possibly even started by opening weekend). Perhaps summer completions are more likely, with much of the work taking place during the week when the park is only open weekends through the spring.

Also interesting to note that neither of the park's main merchandise locations (KD Outfitters and Plaza Gifts) seem to have an changes planned, at least as of now. They are both still listed on the updated app as merchandise locations. Just interesting to point out the reno of secondary locations, with the main ones remaining unchanged. Perhaps there is a larger plan for them in future years though.

It's also possible that some of the recent permit filings are related to next offseason for a 2026 opening also. I believe many permits filed in the past have a 6 or 12 month permission period, none of which currently list an expiration date.

That’s good to see. The Shore Thing and Candy Shop interiors are among the most drab, outdated spaces in the whole park.

Looking at the updated app, I noticed that Shore Thing is no longer listed on the map either (in addition to the adjacent Dominion Traders which someone previously noted). The new “Kings Collection” shop seems to be taking over both shops. If the new combined shop has an improved aesthetic and better merchandise, that’s a big win.

I also did notice that Pizza Parlor is suspiciously not listed on the map (though it’s still on the website). That seems odd since it’s apparently being renovated. Maybe the app isn’t quite finished enough with its updates to be trustworthy yet?

Coca-Cola Pizza Parlor, International Street Beer and Wine, and Tower Pretzel are all in the app on my map (iOS).

Is Sweet Spot a new name? I don't remember the candy shop being named that, but it's listed in the app on the map. I actually think Sweet Spot is the branding of the candy shop at Dorney, and it was announced it was coming to Great Adventure this year. Seems like it's also coming to Kings Dominion as well if it's new.

Perhaps the Kings Collection on the map (former Dominion Traders and Shore Thing) won't be merchandise at all, but will instead be the new limited-time museum for the 50th anniversary.

Interesting, Pizza Parlor is shown on the list on the app, but not on my map. Must be an error.

Sweet Spot is definitely a new name. The candy shop closer to Dominator used to be called Fudge & Fun and was renamed La Dulce Vida a year or two ago to fit the theme of the Spanish building on I-Street. I’ll be a little disappointed if the in-park signage changes to reflect the new name because I liked how La Dulce Vida fit the theming.

It begs the question though: which candy shop is getting renovated? The new name suggests the candy shop on the Dominator side of I-Street, but the candy shop on the other side of I-Street is literally named “Candy Shoppe” which is more in line with what the permit says. The latter is the one more in need of renovation IMO.

The work detailed seems to indicate it is in fact Candy Shoppe, because they actually have some food production that takes place in there don't they? Unless they are adding it to the other shop.

The Dominator side candy/merchandise shop is the same building as the former Border Burrito, which I heard part of the reasoning for its move was that the building was in need of major repairs. I was surprised that only a portion (soon to be Funnel Cake Kitchen) was renovated and not the rest of the building.
