I've just received word from several of my higher up sources that the park is REMOVING their traditional peach scented hand soaps in favor of cucumber melon. I for one am OUTRAGED that they would even THINK about going against tradition and making such a RADICAL change in the way that guests experience the park... It makes me both furious and deeply saddened to see the wretched condition that my beloved home park has bestowed upon itself... It's like watching a close friend wither away into dust from crippling drug abuse. What are you guys' thoughts?

I liked it better when they had "Fresh Breeze" for one season, but they went back to "Peach" the next year. I'm sure they will see the error of their ways and go back to "Peach" next year.

For the park's sake, I really hope they do... do you remember when they tried switching to country lemon back in 95? People were furious. It didn't last more than a month.

Only to mock those of us who hold the park on real standards ;)

Haha, no not at all. T'was fun while it lasted.
Moral of this thread. If you plan on posting in the "News" Forum, and you're not sure if it qualifies as news. When in doubt don't post it. If its noteworthy MOST LIKELY a Moderator will; otherwise put it in Everything Else.

Hand soap matters a lot to this Forum.

How did I never realized that the soap used to be peach scented. For that matter I don't think I ever realized that is currently cucumber melon.

If you don’t visit every single stall, try every soap dispenser, and analyze the pros and cons of using a paper towel versus using the hand dryers every single visit, you might as well just turn in your enthusiast card and log off the site right now. This is ParkFans, not ParkCasualFans. We do things a little different around here, striving for the best each and everyday in and out of the park and fact checking those around us who aren’t as enlightened. I personally like to sometimes taste the soap when I’m the only one in the bathroom, Ireland is particularly great for doing this, just to make sure it’s up to the usual standards. If the consistency or taste is even slightly off, I immediately march on down to Guest Services at a full on sprint, and let them know of the dire situation and urge them to send janitoral staff to fix the problem.

ParkFans History Note:
This thread, when it originally existed, descended into complete chaos. Many members violated many rules, resulting in multiple pages of posts being deleted and the thread being locked. The posts were deleted before I hacked together an undelete solution for MyBB (back when we ran on MyBB) and thus, the posts are lost. All that remains are the memories and battle scars.

I really do wish I was on this site at the time to see that to be honest.

Do you remember the coarse gritty soap of the of the late 90s/early 2000s? It had a "chew" to it. Not nearly as creamy smooth as the current selections.

I may be inexperienced in the art of soap-testing, but I have become quite talented in the art of bathroom comparing. This being said, I think lemon soap should be in the bathrooms near Marco Polo Marketplace, and lavender should be used In France.

Yes! I was much younger and didn’t have my first visit at the park until 2001, but will never forget the first time my lips came across the San Marco soap dispenser only to have my thirst quenched by the gooey, gritty liquid. I was so mesmerized by the texture and consistency that my parents actually had to pull myself off of the soap dispenser, gotta save some for the rest us! From that point on, I was hooked as an enthusiast, the rides and shows are cool, but really at the end of the day, it’s always has and always will be about the soap. I will admit the soap during the BEC days was great, but it was a little frustrating to experince the same soap at all of the SEAS parks, since the sale I’ve noticed a lot of different flavors and textures of soap at the various properties and I really appreciate the change for true avid fans.
