SWSD has started hiring for a new position called Entertainment Specialist. One of the responsibilities of this position is "Supports the theming & technical teams in the upgrade of existing park shows, events, festivals, and attractions". This could be really exciting for SWSD, and it will be interesting to see what projects pop up in the feature.

I wonder if/hope this is an effort to beef up entertainment offerings at SWSD. Last year things were heading in the right direction, at least with seasonal entertainment, but then got really bad after the summer was over. I've noticed this year there's no stage show and no fireworks show for Seven Seas Food Festival, and so far the only entertainment that's been announced for the summer is another O.P. Otter kids' show and maybe a character parade. Ironically, this is the park's 60th anniversary, and it seems most of the anniversary-related entertainment is going to the other two SeaWorld parks.

I would love to see new permanent-themed shows in the Nautilus and Mission Bay amphitheaters.
I agree, there really ought to be at least one permanent theatrical show at the park at all times. San Diego doesn't have enough rides or other attractions (especially with half of the aquariums closed permanently) and needs more entertainment to compensate.

stocking full of soul and the Christmas parade have been here the past 2 years
Maybe the parade will be upgraded from the "cavalcade" to something more like the summer parades. As for Stocking Full of Soul, I have to guess it'll be a new setlist with maybe a little more pizzazz than before? Still doesn't sound like a big production though; I was kinda hoping we'd get a new headliner-type show comparable to monster stomp or the pirate stunt show.
There also once again doesn't seem to be any mention of a fireworks show. Last year they announced and introduced it partway through and it was a great addition, so I'm hopeful it'll make a return. It's almost like they don't want to do it for the full duration of the event, so they wait to announce it when it's approaching the peak dates when they actually want to have it.

I definitely appreciate the boost in entertainment this year though. HOS was obviously a major improvement, and now it looks like Christmas is getting a much needed upgrade too. Even the new character show seems promising, just from the picture they show--last year there was literally only one character lol. I'm guessing this will be a proper show similar to the ones they've done for summer and Spooktacular.
