Quite something. Icon of the park was basically crumbling and is essentially being rebuilt.

This is pretty par for the course with Disney. Almost every older attraction has undergone "extensive refurbishment". I'm glad Matterhorn's getting some love, but the source for the state of the mountain isn't terribly reliable, so I would take that piece of the article with a grain of salt.
