Hello! It seems like Magical Midway Thrill Park that is located on International Drive in Orlando Florida is on the chopping block!

Over the last few days going to work I have seen the Star Flyer gondola go up and down the tower with workers doing some type of inspection. Personally, i thought maybe they were finally starting work to get the rides back open. For many years the only attraction running at the park was the Slingshot. Then to my surprise, this afternoon cranes were spotted removing the topper! After work, I stopped by to see if it was only the Star Flyer receiving work or more. It was way more than that!

From what i've noticed. It seems the entire arcade has been cleared out, cables and gondola removed from the slingshot, platform removed from the shot tower, and of course the star flyers topper and a tower segment have been removed.

Its about time. This park has pretty much been abandoned for a while now. Last year I saw maintenance crews cutting weeds around the park, but the rides looked like they were overgrown and falling apart. Maybe we'll get something worthwhile in its place. I'd be down with the Arie family putting another Fun Spot property there in the future.

That segment of I-Drive tends to be a bit sketchy so adding a clean entertainment place might clean the area up a bit.

The only issue is the funspot Orlando location isn’t even a mile from this location

I'm under the impression the Go-Karts specifically were purchased by Fun Spot for use in the other parks.
It's very possible. I didn't see any on site and the tracks look like they are crumbling apart.

Time for a new update! Filmed on 4/23/24:

The main change between yesterday and today is the removal of most of the star flyers tower and loading platform. Crews were still working hard after i left at 4pm and were continuing to on breaking up the platform and the rides gondola. If they keep up this pace the ride will be completely removed by the end of the week.

I'm hearing from my sources that as soon as the star flyer is removed, work will then switch to begin the removal of the shot tower. This is very sad since this was the first ever S&S shot tower, but all good things must come to an end. From what I've heard, both the star flyer and shot tower will be scrapped as it will take a lot of money to get them back to an operational status. The slingshot however may have a second chance on life, but i haven't heard on a new location for the attraction just yet.

With all that being said. Maybe, just maybe the sling shot will stay around but honestly I don't think it will. Epically when you have a newer, taller, and faster version 5 mins down the road. Personally i think this area is going to be fully demo'd and the land sold off to use it retail/dining locations. I really hope they add new rides to the empty plot and do a complete redevelopment for a family park.
