Announced almost two years ago, the new ride has gone vertical, as shown in these aerial photos from @bioreconstruct on Twitter.

Disney updated info last August, including the closing of the railroad and the rerouting of the Tomorrowland Speedway.

The original opened in Shanghai Disneyland in 2016.

The Creative Director for Tron is the same who was behind Disney Springs so I'm beyond ecstatic to see the final product for this translation of an already phenomenal attraction.

From what I understand the walkway between Tomorrowland and the Fantasyland train station is only temporarily closed and will reopen.

That part of the track/coaster will be inside a building as the @bioreconstruct aerial ☝️ shows. I guess they decided a 10 story scrim wall was unnecessary.?

I'm glad they didn't cover up that side. That is the longest section of straight track on the ride and covering that up would've hindered the view of the Tomorrowland Speedway below and some of Fantasyland in the distance. It also would've looked tacky as fuck. Besides, there really is no point in covering up any part of the ride since the construction site is so big and there are so many vantage points to view it from. All one has to do is go to the roof of the Contemporary and even better - just drive right by it on World Drive.
