Mäch Tower is a Moser's Rides Gravity Tower located in the Oktoberfest section of Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Originally planned to debut in the spring alongside Beste Brezeln und Bier and numerous other alterations to the Oktoberfest hamlet, Mäch Tower faced months of delays throughout the first half of 2011. Ultimately, the attraction did not open to the public until August 18th, 2011.

When it debuted, Mäch Tower featured an onboard audio system which would play music throughout the ride's ascent and a seat vibration effect that would trigger immediately before the drop. A POV featuring the on-ride audio can be found below.

Mach Tower is typically converted into an observation tower named Nächt Tower for the park's annual holiday event, Christmas Town.

since Moser is clearly selling models of this tower, expect to see more of these pop up at other parks. There are models of Moser's large drop towers sprinkled around Europe, but none of them have the sound package or vibrating seats at the top. Some of them have cool light packages though. I wish Mach had one.

Wasn't one rumored/planned for a park up north for 2012? Did they get it or did they cancel after what happened with Mach Tower? I haven't head anything about it since then.

Great Adventure was rumored to get a drop tower in 2012, but a star flyer + flat ride package was announced instead.

Then again, it's been rumored to get a drop tower since 2003 or so.

Any idea if they're looking at a seat redesign any time soon?

Doubt it, they will just keep with the seats they have and add a test seat by the front of the queue. that would be the most frugal way to go. We all know that it would extremely expensive to make new seats and install them. Think of all the work that has to be done. Not just the seats would have to be messed with.

Does anyone know if something was broken or could it have just been routine inspections/maintenance taking longer than planned?
