As a side note, there are no exclamation points on the London Rocks* bus signage.

Until I see the show, I will not judge it. (Kind of unfair:)) As I have been saying, if they pull it off right, it could be amazing, if not, good bye Banbury Cross, Hello Austin Powers Movies. :(

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

You're right, we can't judge the show yet. We CAN, however, judge the ridiculous bus and floating pink pillows in the Festhaus. And it's pretty much certain that it will be "goodbye Banbury Cross, hello Austin Powers movie" regardless of the quality of the show. I don't know much about them, but I'm pretty sure groups like the Beatles weren't around during Elizabethan-era England.

Come now, Joe, you're being too negative. :p

Yeah, while everybody should have an open mind since Scott has the ability to put on good shows under the right circumstances, he has way more misses than hits. This is going to be another Entwined where he'll spend lots of money on something, and toss way more money at it to make it half way palatable by the guests.

Next year is going to be the second year without a new ride, but we've gotten new show (or total revamp) each year for how many? This is where the management wants to take the park, where they think that new shows alone will bring in guests.

What are they going to do about copyright infringement for London Rocks? Just the demo today could bring down the hounds of litigation. With so many more ongoing suits, it is a wonder how the status quo of using material without permission can be condoned. Hopefully, SG will be gone and someone with sense will be brought in to correct matters of quality. No more confetti! Live musicians, not tracks! As for him making quality shows, which ones are you talking about? I have been there 7 years and his handiwork has been nothing but abysmal. Celtic Fyre he had nothing to do with, MIU and DIU were mostly cast generated with only broad strokes from the office, TIO was only brought back in its diminished form to placate all the complaints, the Halloween shows were put together by the last of the 'subject matter specialists' who are no longer there, and CT's success in Deck, Miracles and Gloria are anomalies. Think Clocktoberfest, Wunderbarn, Rejoice, Grape Smash, Killarney Komotion, Illuminights and the grandaddy of all, Entwined.

He had nothing to do with Rejoice and Clocktoberfest, those were both in production before he arrived at the park.

Not true.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

In today's preview for this show, other than being engulfed in fog, and covered in paper flowers, I was really disappointed. The preview was useless, it didn't give us one hint of what was going to happen in the show. They just played some British Invasion music, and projected some pictures/videos on big pillows/clouds. Not only that, but I only recognized 1, yes only 1 performer out of 20 plus performers in this preview. That performer was the lead in TIO(the guy lead). It's truly just sad, very, very sad.

I'm still not going to judge this show until I see it, but at the preview they said it was 4 years in production. So in that case I'm not looking for a good show I'm looking for a perfect show, if SG had 4 years to make this, and he can't pull it off, I will be mad.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

Just to be clear the idea of London rocks was from a performer that is no longer here. Someone who was here before and during Scott's time. I'm sure it will be a bastardized version at best. The original performer's idea had live musicians as well. But since live musicians walk-off these days I doubt it haha. Oh I forgot to say that this performer was repeatedly told their idea wasn't a possibility. SG has expensive creative teams to do the shows now. That's this year's entwined.

RE: London Rocks! (2014 to Present)

As a side note ( and good news?) I can tell you the bus was a rental from the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach. The guy driving it had their shirt on, and someone from BG confirmed. Doesn't mean we have dodged the bullet though.

I wonder with this new show if they will bring back the double decker buses as the tram. :p

All the park needs to do is make sure their blanket license fee it paid to ASCAP and BMI. If that's done then they are covered to use any music from any artist that the organizations have signed.

But phonebooths were.
Please don't give them any excuses to justify this. ;)

The dude next to me this morning was super stoked after watching the announcement for the show. He walked over to one of the people standing behind me, against the wall, yelling "this is going to be the best show ever!". Then I saw him later on in the day, I think near the train in Caribou, still talking about how excited he was for this show. I'm sure I'll watch it at some point but I have no idea if I'm going to like it at all yet. Also, a 5 second burst of confetti would have been sufficient..
