Local Bands Playing at BGW

Hello folks. Hope everyone is working through their BG withdrawals. Does anyone know anything about BG hiring local bands to perform in the upcoming season? I know someone who said he was asked to hold a couple Fridays for them in May/June. Thanks - and sorry if this is addressed elsewhere. Didn't see anything.

They dont have to been from Williamsburg bands from Richmond and Hampton Roads also count as local

Does Kings Dominion have bands? Carowinds did last summer. The public didn't seem to take to it. The bands were okay, but played to no more than 10 people.

KD did have a few during the food and wine/spring bloom festival thingy.

Yup. They had bands playing each weekend for the Spring Bloom Festival and the BBQ & Brew Fest. They also had a local band for the Birthday Bash, and several local German bands were supposed to perform during Octoberfest but the event was cancelled at the last minute.

How successful do you think the band thing was? The bands at Carowinds were virtually ignored, except for family and groupies.

Anecdotally, not very. They did add atmosphere, but few people actually stayed. At KD they're near the entrance, so lots of people do pass them on the way to the meat of the park.
