I think they just decided to chomp it off at a mile and threw that extra long brake run in. I seriously saw that and I can almost guarantee it is longer than Kingda Ka's.

What the hell? You could've thrown in one more bunny hill in the space of that brake run and it would end the ride much better than an overbank (Millennium Farce anyone?). I seriously hope this ride has more forces than MF or it's gonna flop. Knowing B&M it's probably gonna be trimmed to bits by the time it hits the last over bank anyways...

This is not needed for the park. At all.

Please tell us what you think is needed for this park? What is it lacking? It's massive and incredibly well-rounded. At this point, upgraded repeats and expensive gimmicks are the only kinds of additions for them to make.

A good woodie would be nice, but the three woodies there have proven that either the climate is horrible for wood coasters there or they don't give a crap about wood-coaster maintenance.

I think it's a similar decision to what Holiday World made as far as choosing to add something similar to an already very popular ride.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind having a whole park full of B&M clamshell coasters, Schmeck or Allen woodies and funnel cake stands.

And I LOVE how it utterly squashes Dragon Fire.

They couldve gone with more variety. There just isnt that much in the B&M hypers. 3 is overkill, though one is technically a giga.

From a marketing standpoint the addition of a B&M Giga coaster is baffling especially so soon after Behemoth which is only 3 years old. The park is in a non-competitive market as it is the only major park in Canada's largest city. They have no competition up there as evident by their annual attendance figures (they are the #1 most visited seasonal park in North America). Simply put, this new addition is bizarre from a business standpoint.

A B&M Floorless would've made much more sense than Leviathan. The park lacks a big signature multi-looping coaster and a Floorless would've filled that void. Granted they have loopers in the park but none of them really stand out and some are old as hell. The tallest looping coasters in the park are those crappy, cookie-cutter Boomerangs and SLCs (The Bat at 116-feet and Flight Deck at 109-feet) while Dragon Fire is a whopping 76 feet tall and Sky Rider is an earth-shattering 88-feet high. The latter two being 30 years old and 26 years old, respectively. They could've easily gone for a record breaking Floorless and could've built it on a much smaller footprint than what Leviathan is gonna take up.

To put this into perspective, let's look at a breakdown of their looping coasters and the number of inversions on each...

Coaster - Inversion Count
Bat - 3
Dragon Fire - 4
Flight Deck - 5
SkyRider -1
Time Warp - 2

So for a park that will soon have a roster of 16 coasters, that's a total of 15 inversions spread out over 5 rides. You ask what is lacking? Well there's your answer.

I think I'm buying into the story that it was originally planned for Knotts. It should be a great ride no matter where they build it though. To the GP, a 300+ foot coaster is a 300+ foot coaster- they couldn't care less about the specifics.

Also, I fully support this quote:

The layout doesn't have anything new, it could be longer than it is, it could have more airtime hills, it's a lot like Behemoth, and yet, it's going to be amazing. Roller coaster enthusiasts are never satisfied. The only ride in BGW that had any new element in a layout when it debuted is Loch Ness Monster's interlocking loops. Griffon could be a lot longer than it is, but it's still a pretty fun and popular ride. Most hyper coasters are nothing but airtime hills, and though Leviathan could incorporate more, the ones included look sweet. This ride is smooth, tall, long, and fast, and looks like a great ride. I'm excited just because I thought I'd never see the day that B&M built a giga. And who cares if it's a lot like Behemoth? If BGW shockingly built a ride like Leviathan right now, I wouldn't complain at all, because I bet it would be a ton of fun and probably better than I-305. If I'm in Canada anytime soon, I'll definitely stop to check this ride out.

Drachen Fire had 2 unique elements, a wraparound Corkscrew and a cutback.

As far as Leviathan, while it will be a good ride, they still could have been more inventive with the layout. That brake run is way too long, and none of the hills break 200 after the first drop.

I don't count Drachen Fire because those beloved "unique elements" really worked out well.

And sure, there aren't any hills that are over 200 feet tall, but most coasters don't have 180-ft. camelbacks to boast, and when you're going 92 MPH, that twenty foot differential isn't too noticeable.

Alot of people go to KD to ride I305 right? That ride has drawn TONS of publicity and popularity, and dont forget guests,to KD! The ride is essentially all over the place! People talk about it at school, on the internet even our forums bring the ride up once in a while! I know Busch is trying to get different rides that KD doesnt have but they may need a coaster similar to I305 (height wise) to compete and if they plan it nicely it could very well top the charts! Im not going to go into too much details about how I think the ride should be, if we ever get it, but I think it would be cool that when ever Busch expanded and got a ride like this that it would go over the Rhine adding alot more fun instead of headache inducing turns coughcough305coughcough. It wouldnt be similar to Apollos Chariot either.... Just because a Giga has some hills in the layout doesnt automatically mean "OOOOhhh it has hills boohoo" and "Sheeeit, its just like our other hyper". No. Just no.

Spoiler: They don't.

Hmmmm. Well...... Which would attract more guests 1) a little launch coaster 2) a 300 ft giant towering above Griffon and MT. I think #2. Plus it would just look amazing.

I think what Busch has planned in theming alone deserves more recognition than to be notated as just a "little launch coaster." True, some people (like us) love the tallest and fastest thrills, but let's not forget that the GP will love a thrilling and well designed launch coaster that the whole family can truly enjoy, even those of us who love the thrills. Theme parks are a business, the GP brings in the business, and the park must respond to what is best for the GP, not just what we enthusiasts want. Everyone here are going to come to the park many times a year whether they build a "little launch coaster" or a "300 ft giant towering above Griffon and MT."
