Staying open for two extra weekends to give it a sendoff is pretty nice, although it’s a shame they didn’t let it hang on through 2026 for its 50th anniversary.
Desperately hope this thing gets a new lease on life somewhere else. Assuming the work required to keep it running isn't too dramatic, this would be a sweet pickup for a number of tiny parks out there.
I can already sense Gene Staples salivating at the idea of passing it around between his parks for 5 years before maybe opening it.

Honestly I wish he’d just make that the game plan for all of his parks. IB has Tig’rr and AATL, Niagara might still have Laser Loop in storage(?), send Jet Star 2 to Clementon. They could REALLY use it considering they currently have one operating coaster and it’s just a Wisdom Dragon Wagon.

Bummer. Had one day in SLC a few years ago around Covid-time, and after exploring the area for most of the day, I realized Lagoon was still open for a couple of hours. Wife was tired, so I went by myself. Missed this one because of their single rider policy.

From a handful of employees at the park, everyone is sad but nobody is surprised. Operation of the coaster have been really haphazard in the last few years, the call would have had to been made sooner or later.

Sad. My dad used to live over by Lagoon and this was one of his favorites. Got to ride it back in 2021 once but this is a bittersweet moment for my family.
