What's up with the long, dark, empty hallway in the middle of the maze?
Yes, they were on randomly last year. It gave a sort of stop motion effect that was fairly fun.If I remember correctly, that hallway had strobe lights in it the first year. And I believe they were on for the first part of howl-o-scream last year.
Yeah, I feel like I remember this as well. As it stands, I don’t MIND a brief moment of disorientation and darkness in a maze, but it’s conspicuous.Yes, they were on randomly last year. It gave a sort of stop motion effect that was fairly fun.
It also doesn't help that this house has so many dead zones. The body bags, the weird hallway right before you enter the kitchen, and then the no longer functional strobe light room. There is so much potential but sadly it just feels empty.Yeah, I feel like I remember this as well. Went through this last night, and weekday staffing levels definitely aren’t helping it out any.
Is it possible for us to see them running this year? I know this years event was rushed, but I didn't know it was that bad.the strobe light was removed and intended to be replaced with a new effect for the refurb theme. the effect has never worked since HoS opened. next time you go inside the house, look along the floor and you will see black pvc piping with zip-ties attached to it. i believe it was meant to be activated by an air compressor (like the ones in lost mines) so it felt like your legs/ankles were being touched by crawling bugs.
edit: many of the "new" effects that were intended to work in killarney have been shelved since opening day. projections and motion-activated scares were added but do not operate.
definitely not. i will say though, i am not entirely sure if the fault lays with the event being rushed (if it was rushed to begin with). Is it possible for us to see them running this year? I know this years event was rushed, but I didn't know it was that bad.
Rushed? Maybe. But we know for a fact the entertainment was very short-staffed. And what staff they did have were mostly made up of people with very little experience. For example with all the delays and issues with permits, a entertainment tech knocking down columns in italy, and a few other major props were severely damaged from during installing. Hech we were even told they dropped the big pumpkin last year in Ireland on the hill to the parking lot.definitely not. i will say though, i am not entirely sure if the fault lays with the event being rushed (if it was rushed to begin with).
