So I'm listening to Pandora right now and "Magic" by The Cars comes on and I miraculously remembered that Kings Dominion had a magic show in the Mason Dixon Hall in the early 1990s.
I then head over to youtube and BAM.... the entire show is posted throughout five video clips!
Note - The text under each video are the youtube uploader comments.
This is the first part of the production show "It's Magic". This show ran for the 1992 Kings Dominion Season at the Mason Dixon Music Hall. This was the final production by Kings Productions and was also in association with Mark Wilson Productions since it has Magic during the whole show. The next year the park was taken over by Paramount and with this take over the park lost its major dance productions.
This is the second part of the show that ran at Kings Dominion 1992. The show was a Kings Produciton in Association with Mark Wilson Productions. This part includes mostly magic preformed with not much dance. The next sections will be more of dance and magic together. Kings Dominion as well as the other Kings Entertainment park chain had such great shows in that day and before. I hope you will enjoy seeing how it was in that day.
It's Magic, part 3 of 5. This section features Me and My Shadow Dance number and also an illusion of a dancer passing through glass. Back in this day my family would vist kings Dominion at least every other week or so over the summer and would always see these great shows each time we visited. My Daughter was mesmerized by them at the time.
This segment includes Your Love is Lifting me Higher, A levitation act as well as Tell me I'm Not Dreaming. You will note with the Kings Production shows that sets and costumes were extensive. The stage floor as well as the stage surround all were part of the show and moved from park to park with the show. Each show normally would run one year at many of the Kings Entertainment Corporation parks. Shows never started at Kings Dominion on opening year. Normally that honor was given to Kings Island and at times Canada's Wonderland. This show is part 4 of a 5 part show.
It's Magic, Part 5, This is the final section and includes a dance number where the whole dance cast is made to vanish. I hope you enjoyed "It's Magic" Check back as more shows are to come in the near future!
