in the 2013 announcement it was revealed Rattler will be reborn in the same way as Texas Giant was, this time featuring a barrel roll right out of that twisty 81 degree first drop. The height of the drop will also be brought back to it's original 171 ft. mark, with a top speed of 70 mph. The release video didn't show anything else worthwhile but I'll post it when I get to a comp.

Personally I'm glad Six Flags acknowledges it as a hybrid and I'm pretty psyched for this ride.

Note: Rattler was originally built with a 166' drop, but due to roughness of the ride the drop was shortened to 124'. With this new conversion the drop will increase by 5' compared to the original Rattler.

RE: Iron Rattler - Six Flags Fiesta Texas

I'm so excited about this. I didn't get to go to SFoT for Texas Giant, maybe we can make it to Texas for both.

RE: Iron Rattler - Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Thank God they are removing that stupid neverending helix! That was by far one of the worst elements ever on a wooden coaster!

RE: Iron Rattler - Six Flags Fiesta Texas

not one circuit, but three with bumps and kinks galore. Glad I didn't have to experience that.

I think my tweet still applies:

By the way, the link included in that tweet links to a slightly different angle of the shot above in case anyone is wondering.
