That's a bummer. We will be there next weekend, and I was certainly looking forward to that.

Coasterradio is supposed to have their meet up a few days after we will be there, and they're supposed to have an hour of ERT before park open on Iron Gwazi.

Was planning on going here for my first time in a few weeks, now I'm not so sure with the prospect of SheiKra, Falcon's Fury, and now Iron Gwazi all closed. That's three of your signature rides. Plus the Sky Ride! 😞

I was heading there on the 14th. Now I'm not so sure. It was one of the reasons I kept my platinum pass

I'm heading down the 19th, and will likely be at BGT either the 20th or 21st. I would think they would try to get this reopened in time for Thanksgiving crowds, but who knows.

Someone on Reddit was saying that they figured they're aiming for it to be reopened this weekend due to the QQ passes for this ride being blacked out until Saturday. Something about closing it during the week to make sure it's ready for the holidays ahead of any planned refurb shutdown this spring.

I don't see it being down too long especially with the upcoming IAAPA convention November 14-17. It would be foolish of them to have it closed while that is going on.

I think "indefinitely" is a very strong word to use. This has been posted for only a day or so. How many times have any of us been to BGW in the past two years on a slow week day and one of the coasters isn't open, for no apparent reason?

If that's still posted and the ride is offline through the weekend, then I might reconsider booking any visits in the near future until it's open.

FWIW, IG was operational yesterday and I got the back row on the first train.

No metal detectors or pass through lockers added to the queue, so you still face a risk with people not storing / securing loose articles.

Somebody who did Coaster Insider tour said there is a third train now. IG will still run with two trains, with a train getting swapped out for maintenance every six months. Perhaps not having a third train ready led to the shutdown earlier this month?

How? Where would it fail to crest a hill with its bonkers lightning pacing
I'm at the park today. Talked to ride ops at Serengeti Flyer and he said the car that valleyed was a rebuilt car put back on the track yesterday. They tested it without dummies and given the cold temps, wheels likely didn't heat up enough, ultimately causing drag and the valley.

UPDATE: Looks like it made it past the first drop and climb, as it valleyed in rhe nexr low spot. I took a picture from the Gwazi Flyers area, and you might be able to spot the car in the distance. Squimt and you should be able to see the green car in the distance just below the purple track.

Valleyed trains are relatively quick fixes if the train is in a good location and the park has the correct equipment. Example: Cedar Point seems to unvalley Iron Dragon within a few hours and reopen the same day. Granted those trains are extemely light and can be winched back to the station with a portable mortorized winch. Twisted Timbers has valleyed before the final brake run, but it took most of the day to get it back to the station.

The ride can become operational with single train ops as soon as the train is removed from the track.

The location is terrible. So they will most likely have to get a crane and partially unassemble the train. Winching the train from that point is not feasible. Then put it back together on the transfer table. But it still shouldn't take too long once they get the right equipment over. You may see 1 trains ops for an extra day or two though.
