I wasn't sure which thread to put this in. It pertains to Paramount/Cedar Fair and Six Flags. Since he was at Paramount first, I'll place this here. Admins feel free to move it to a more relevant location.

The former head of two popular theme park chains has passed away.

Here is the statement from the theme park industry's trade association about the death of Al Weber, Jr.:

Al Weber Jr.“We have lost a visionary, an advocate, and a friend. Al was the embodiment of everything that is great about this business, and his impact on our industry will live on for generations to come. On behalf of IAAPA, our Board of Directors, staff, and membership, we send our deepest condolences to Al’s wife Bonnie, Al’s family, and his industry friends, especially his colleagues at Apex Parks Group.”

Weber worked his way up through the former Paramount Parks chain to become its President and CEO, from 2002 through its sale to Cedar Fair in 2006. Four years later, Six Flags tapped Weber to serve as its Interim President and CEO, which he did for four months before becoming Six Flags' Chief Operating Officer for another two years.

A member of the IAAPA Board of Directors, Weber had been the President and CEO of Apex Parks, which operates the Boomers and SpeedZone family entertainment center chains as well as Indiana Beach.
