Honestly shocked by the move. It seemed like Quimera was most certainly going to be scrapped after the accident, surprised it’s even going to be relocated, let alone relocated in the states. The press release does mention a renovation and the ride is going to be in much better hands and stricter precautionary measures at IB. Should be a nice addition to the line-up and could definitely lead to some higher attendance numbers.
I’m visiting this park next year for the first time and am so pumped to check this place out, especially with this absolute beast of a coaster opening, it’s making that trek out to Indiana even more worthwhile.

Indiana Beach has always been my kinda weird and hence, has long been high on my domestic park bucket list. The addition of an ultra-rare Klaus Polyp would have already been enough to add yet another strong voice to the siren song that calls me to Monticello, IN. Importing and refurbishing a legendary, notorious Schwarzkopf looper though? That’s some next level shit. They’ve basically given their choir of sirens the cell numbers of every last enthusiast on the continent.
I don’t know if I have faith in Indiana Beach’s long-term success just yet, but I do know that a lot of enthusiasts have another reason to visit Indiana now. Hopefully this strategy will pay off with the general public too...

Quimera is gonna need a lot of work before it's opened in the United States but since one of the trains is kinda in unacceptable shape, I'm wondering if they're going to keep the other original 2 or they're gonna get new trains from Gerstlauer or something.

One of the loops supposedly has structural issues due to the fact that they’ve been running it too fast with no mid course brakes. Beyond that I’d guess there are probably more than a few pieces that need work
My guess is paying for the ride was relatively cheap, but the park may have already budgeted for repairs.
Curious how they plan on fixing structural issues - it would seem their options are to essentially weld band-aids onto the troubled spots or to completely recreate the pieces.

Those Gerstlauer trains have been amazing on SDL since they've been put in.
Beyond what DECG has said the portable Schwarz loopers are known for their forces, pushing well more than 5 G consistently especially in the loops. The infamous Texas Tornado had its first two loops raised up when it was originally relocated from Grona Lund in order to cut down on the forces exerted on the track.
Does anyone know if Triple Loop will be opening at all this year or next year? Because the same 1 1/3 loops that were put up a couple months ago are still the only thing that are up
Iam Staples, Gene's son, says they're not gonna be able to open Dreier Looping this year due to issues with getting the ride through US Customs.
I'm at Indiana Beach right now, and I can't see this opening this year. Not even a station or a pathway constructed yet and it still looks a little in pieces. I've heard they're waiting on parts still but I still can't imagine them opening it this year even if the parts arrives today.
Yeah, I'm under the same impression. Definitely looks like 2023 to me.
