Concept Ideas for the Next Coaster

Hersheypark already has a pretty diverse lineup of coasters. What are type of coaster are they missing that you would like to see them add? Personally, I'd like to see an RMC Raptor added (maybe a chance for a record breaker?). Perhaps a B&M family inverted coaster would be a good choice as well. Hersheypark actually seems to take care at making rides for the whole family.

I love raptors but they are tooooo low capacity for a park like Hershey, imo. Hershey could use some better quality, higher capacity family coasters tbh. Their current family line up feels dated.

Instead of a raptor maybe they could work with RMC to build their first T-Rex track (if the concept has not been abandoned). But, as for family coasters, like I said above, a family inverted coaster would also be a great addition (especially if they theme it well). And having Great Bear would not preclude that as an addition, as Busch Gardens Tampa has both Montu and Pheonix Rising, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg seems to be doing the same, having Alpengiest and their rumored next coaster. Maybe they could even call it Little Bear (even if it wouldn't necessarily be in the same area of the park). They could also make something along the lines of Big Bear Mountain from Dollywood.

I would be happy with a Hersheypark version of Big Bear Mountain. Every park could use a Big Bear Mountain.

Let me start with my Candymonium is in the wrong place rant along with needing a second gate.

Ok so coasters Hershey could and should look at:
A family multilaunched coaster
A new Woodie that’s more of a terrain family coaster
A real wing coaster
An actual Giga rather than a tease
A multi-launched inverting coaster

I’m afraid that without a whole new area moving west, Hershey is really land locket now. Anything other than a coaster that can have minimal ground interaction is going to require ride removal.

I'm not sure Hershey would be well served by a giga. They have plenty of high thrill rides and a giga would be out of place scale wise with the rest of the park.

The area around Candymonium could definitely use additional attractions to balance the park with at least another coaster amongst that development.

Agree to disagree about the giga route. Really the hardest part about the giga is the height restrictions. If they want one they will likely have to have the lift hill on a high point and the base of the drop on a low point.

Now that's not to say they wouldn't be well served with more kids and family friendly rides but they actually have a lot of them in the park. They just do a really good job of integrating them throughout the park and not in a dedicated kids area. Even in the coaster area the low to mid thrill coasters include Comet, SooperDooperLooper, Trailblaizer, Laff Track, Lightning Racer, Wild Mouse. That's 6 of 13 (if you don't include Cocoa Cruiser), so about 50% are family friendly with one of the BEST introduction loopers out there.

Even going deeper 60 out of 71 rides in the wet and dry combined are either family friendly or have a family friendly option within it (triple tower).

They should build an actual whip and not whatever fucking monstrosity their old one was. Louder than a freaking Metallica concert that thing.

The last two coasters were high thrill models. I think a good family coaster could work wonders here. Maybe like a Big Bear Mountain style coaster

Hershey has a good lineup of big thrill coasters but lacks thrilling flats (especially flat rides that invert riders) - that should be a priority.

Comet will always be busy. In my time living up there I saw 4 family friendly coasters go in and Comet stayed packed. It stays that way more because of location than lack of options.

Hershey has a good lineup of big thrill coasters but lacks thrilling flats (especially flat rides that invert riders) - that should be a priority.

Hershey may need a few more thrilling flats but the issue is space. But there’s 5-6 thrilling flats so it’s not like they are devoid.

IMO they just need to agree to use space they have and keep with the coaster/flat on opposing years. Because they do something with dining yearly (even if they keep outsourcing it) that’s not a concern. They need to get back to entertainment items more than anything else. Their entertainment has gone downhill more than anyone else IMO.

For flats, if they really are adding a Screamin' Swing next year, that's a win. I'd love to see a Starflyer in the front of the park, and something like an Air Race or Sky Roller be built one day. Balancing that with a larger family multi-launch or suspended coaster (larger than Trailblazer) and maybe one more kiddie coaster (family boomerang?) would be a good mix.

I agree with the point on Entertainment, too. But that's more about making the park well-rounded. The old Amphitheater had issues with accessibility - steep stairs, limited wheelchair spaces, and Great Bear's noise did it no favors. A covered live music stage for bands (local bands, traveling acts, etc) with seating is sorely needed within the park again - it would look great as a replacement for the Playdome Arcade.
