Going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg tomorrow and Saturday what is the predicted crowd levels since it is opening weekend for Howl O Scream and two since it is going to be daytime until almost 8p and the park is only open until 10p what haunted houses are ok to experience daytime vs nightitme, I remember most of the haunted houses are hindered by daytime/the sun so would like to plan accordingly.

I'd start with Lost Mines and then move counterclockwise around the park hitting KILLarny and then Nevermore. All three of those are indoors but Nevermore is historically far more impacted by light than the other two.

Definitely wait until dark to hit Witch and Death Water. Both will be severely impacted by daylight. Do also note that both outdoor houses will close for weather so, if it looks like storms could be rolling in later, it may be wise to cut your losses and do the outdoor houses before the sun sets just so you don't miss them if storms do arrive.

Crowds will likely be moderate to heavy assuming good weather. Given the current forecast (much worse Saturday) and the fact that tomorrow is opening night, Howl-O-Scream crowds could possibly be heavier tomorrow vs Saturday. Just a weird possible anomaly to keep in mind. Also note that operations may be abysmal since it's opening weekend.

Thanks it has been several years since we have attended Howl O Scream and just remember a lot of the houses were daylight impacted. Ok figured as much but it is the only weekend we could attend HOS so still wanted to give it a go so hopefully it isn't to dreadful, we are HHN diehards so I feel we should be ok with crowds generically speaking but still just didn't know if we needed to invest in Quick Queue or if between the two days and limited night hours we would be fine without it

Also thanks for info on which houses are more indoors so hopefully we can be more strategic, also do they close lines off before park close or could we jump in line near park close if that is needed?

Assuming the weather works out and you don't shove a bunch of non-HOS things in after 6, you will definitely be just fine getting through the event in two nights without QuickQueue. With a reasonable gameplan you should be able to see everything tomorrow honestly.

Hard to know how they'll operate this year to be honest.

I've still enjoyed saving the Pompeii house for night time. That first hallway before the elevated bridge is pointless during the day, but the rest of the house is fine. Think that's just because I'm big into how the tone is first set with a house, if I'm gradually lulled into it, almost ruins it for me.

But especially early in the season when there isn't much darkness, kinda hard to save things for dark.
