Demented Dimensions was just confirmed as the name of one of two new mazes at Howl-O-Scream in Busch Gardens Tampa. This maze replaces Zombie Mortuary, and the other is replacing Circus of Superstition 3D. The other mazes are returning mazes. In addition to this, the park will have five scare zones and one show.

Something also of note is that they haven't announced a theme yet. However, they will be using their own mazes for filming commercial footage. Considering that Williamsburg is reusing last year's theme with less emphasis on Mr. Karver; I think Tampa might do the same, minus the "Evil Encore".

Here is a video of the new maze under construction on the park's Howl-O-Scream Facebook page.

Here is the logo for the new maze.

The name is close to Distorted Dimensions from BGW back in 2004/2003. The premise of the house seems different definitely, I wonder why they didn't reuse the name.

^ To make thing even weirder, BGT also had a house that was called Demented Dimensions, same name as this new house. Theirs was also a 3D funhouse-type haunt, but I don't think it had as much to do with clowns as it was a trippy experience. I think it's very strange that Tampa is reusing a name from their own event. However, this does look to be entirely different, as it does not seem to be another 3D house.

In the video, I still see some set pieces from Zombie Mortuary. You can tell that the part of the video that shows the floor was previously the mortuary courtyard. The part after it (or before it in the video) is what's left of the chapel and viewing room.

I know that BGT recycles props anyway, but this looks like they very deliberately reused some props as nods back to old mazes. Since you are going into different dimensions, this would make sense. For example: the bookshelves and scraps of paper look like Nevermore (my favorite, I want it at BGW so much) and the divider curtains look like Vampire Casino. I really hope that there is some truth behind this because a house nodding to past favorites is a dream house to me.

I just hope they don't make it look too much like Trapped in the Walls which was before Zombie Mortuary. That house was quite unique. It had you looking into vignette-style scenes and then walking through some of them. This house should be different enough if they can create a distinct veil between each dimension.

I'm already excited about what their show technicians are working on for this one. Their lighting in particular has been improving drastically from the older houses that rely a lot on darkness and imagination. Yet they still leave a little bit up to the imagination, which is so important.
