I've been thinking about this for a while now.
I really liked the concept Skyrider posted, and I figured I would post this now. I think the park should do some homework and base a Howl-O-Scream season around the history of the countries represented.
I'm not a history buff, so I would like some feedback/input as to what "terrors" truly represent the countries and such. And hamlets (Festa and Oktoberfest) can kind of be whatever, since they don't have a history.
England: I'm not sure here. I think the horror would have to be some scare zone, because there frankly isn't enough room for a haunted house.
Scotland: Same as England.
Ireland: Great Potato Famine (terrible idea, but I don't know what's happened in Ireland's history besides this)
France: Reign of Terror house concept Skyrider posted
New France: Just bring back the chainsaw lumberjacks and werewolves (when the costumes were good)
Germany: Um, I think we all know the biggest tragedy in Germany, but I don't know how well that would work as a theme/house
Oktoberfest: I really like the idea of having miscellaneous monsters. I think they could do two houses in the FHP and maybe bring back the outside one (hopefully, at least). One could be Frankenstein's monster, but not the green Hollywood version. I'm talking a huge man made of multiple persons' body parts stitched together. It could be really grotesque, but really cool if done well (kind of a classy version of a horror, like NBC's Hannibal). The other house I could see being Bitten, but COMPLETELY redone, not just "upgraded." Kind of along the lines of the Frankenstein's monster idea, I'm thinking a classy Dracula sort of thing. Outside: creature from the black lagoon.
Italy: Not good with Italian history, but I really like a Pompeii house or a gladiator style house.
Festa Italia: Either clowns, or bring the gladiator house here and keep Pompeii in Italy.
As you all can see, my concept is probably not the most well-explained one, but I have ideas floating around in my head (particularly for the Frankenstein's monster) and if you would like full-fleshed descriptions I would be glad to say what I'm thinking. Feedback/inputs/critiques/comments all welcomed and greatly appreciated!
