In honor of their birthday, can anyone name the 6 original rides the park opened up with that still stand today?

Close...it opened with

The train
Rhine river cruise
The catapult
Carousel
Le scoot
Li'l Clydes

Cool fact about the carousel: it is the oldest ride in the park clocking in at nearly 100 years old. The ride was built in the early 1990s and was used at a local park then taken down and thrown in a junkyard. When hunting for rides to open with the park, thy came across this carousel just laying there rusting in a junkyard. So, they bought it, restored it, and put it in the park on opening day

*fixed for errors

And I think it was glissade...but I might've been Li'l Clydes...don't remember exactly

You said rides that are still running today, so Glissade wouldn't be it. Also that's a cool story about the carousel . And I imagine you meant 1900's not the 1990's.

Haha yeah I see my mistakes now...

Ok so it opened up with Li'l Clydes (even though glissade was there for the opening)

And yes I did mean1900s...Im typing from and iPad and it keeps auto correcting me...oops

Wrong there, buddy.

Glissade, along with the rest of Oktoberfest, did not open until the park's second year in operation.

Well then someone needs to change the wiki cause it says glissade opened with the park

Weird. Wiki and RCDB lists the ride opening in 1975. I could've sworn it opened in 1976 with the rest of Oktoberfest. I need to find the opening year park map.

EDIT: My bad. Glissade did open with the park. It's in the opening year brochure http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/1975/bgtoc1975_4.html

From what I understand, Glissade was basically the end point of the park in the first year, located where Darkastle is. I'm assuming construction of the rest of Oktoberfest was ongoing and visible throughout the first season. An interesting question is: Was Oktoberfest supposed to be open in 1975 and they just couldn't finish it on time? Or was the plan all along to open it a year later?

Also, I was not aware that Lil Clydes was there from the beginning. I though the Catapult and Carousel were the only two flat rides that have been there since they opened?

Interesting fact about the carousel it was built in 1928 if my memory Is correct! I promise I didn't look it up I'm just good with dates.
