Attraction Gwazi

We happened to be going to BGT for the last weekend of the ride. Last time we rode it there was no one else on it, this time it was a full train. It is definitely more rough with a full train but I still don't hate this ride like most seem to.
It was sad being there this week and seeing the track sitting there dead. I didn't hate Gwazi and I missed riding it.
Yeah, you're right Zachary. It shouldn't be SBNO, it should be burned to the ground.

It's on a gravel plain, meaning no shrubbery around it would also catch fire. So yeah, if someone threw a stray cigarette on it, I wouldn't be sad.
You both are treading dangerously close to advocating illegal activity.
Surely there's a loophole where arson is legal when Gwazi is involved?

On a serious note the last time I rode Gwazi was 2006 when it was still using the PTC trains. It still is odd to me that BGT would go through the effort of buying new trains only to shut one side down and later on close it entirely. Also coming from someone who has had multiple rides SBNO in their home park, it's a hell of a lot more awkward than you think it is.

Gwazi according to Mark Rose costs $1 million to operate, and the new trains were probably a last ditch to try and increase intrest in the ride, which had limited success. With the cost cuts and everything, I'd expect Gwazi to get demolished by next year, then construction for another attraction to commence in the following year.
While everybody was generally disinterested in the ride, I liked the unique woody feeling which I didn't appreciate until just recently. RIP Gwazi (1999-2015)

While it's always a shame to see a coaster go SBNO, Gwazi was truly a horrid ride. It did nothing but batter me from beginning to end. Probably up there with Manhattan Express and the Belmont Park Giant Dipper for the honor of roughest coaster I've ever ridden. The caveat there is that while my experience with the Giant Dipper was likely just an aberration, the other two are probably just worthless. As soon as there's enough money to rip Gwazi down, SEAS needs to get rid of the thing.

I Rode it several times and never felt it was that rough at all. All the woodies at Kings dominion are worse than gwazi was imo and it was far better than some of the coasters at six flags america, not that six flags america is any benchmark for a park of BGT's caliber. For reference I rode back in 2011 when it had recently gotten the flyers and thought it was smooth as butter. Went back last fall and it was still fine. Overall It would have been quite a fun coaster if they had ever run both sides for a decent amount of time, but I never got the pleasure. Single side made it a very mediocre ride.
S/N: It was quite lame the way the basically paved over the tiger side in its final year. It looked very distasteful.

With the anouncment of Cobra's Curse, BGT is still thinking about Gwazi according to this article here.
