Busch Gardens posted on thir Facebook page today that Griffon is getting painted.....
Everyone enjoys a fresh coat of paint. Griffon is feeling the love with a fresh, sky blue coat.

Probably. I haven't really noticed anything bad with the paint. It did seem a tad bit faded, but I wish they would have waited a year.

BGW seems to do a better job with keeping the coasters' paint in good shape than BGT, I have seen some POV videos of BGT coasters and some are weathered pretty bad.

Florida weather is a lot different than VA weather, and the rides run all year. Lots of rain and a hot sun most of the year causes the paint to break down faster in BGT.

UV hits a good amount higher down there. I am trying to find the diagram that shows the difference.

I wish they would paint Apollo first

Kumba I know was in very bad shape before they painted it

It is a good thing that they are painting the rides unlike some other parks... *cough*Six Flags*cough*Kings Dominion*cough*

The Loch Ness Monster got painted before the start of last season.

A good portion of Lochness has some protection by trees. Part of the reason I love that ride so much.

^Would tree sap mess up paint? Doesn't really have to do with anything... just wondering

It would stain it but thats about it. If it were soft paint then it could potentially peel it off as wheels go over it but would be doubtful.

Did anyone think it looked painted? The ride does not look bad at all, but it does not look like it got painted. There is still chipped paint on the supports. The rails where the wheels are has chipped paint (I know it will be like this but it shouldnt be this early if they just painted it). Did they only paint part of it? I couldn't tell that it was painted.

Griffon just received some touch-up paint on the approach to the block brake. That section had rusted pretty bad from the water spray.

I didn't even look at that. They made it sound like they were painting the whole ride.

If they painted Griffon this paint year they did a poor job of it. Maybe it was just parts of the ride.

Freezing to death last Saturday I saw plenty of rust spots.

They only painted a few "Really bad" parts of the ride- there are definably parts that need some more love though.
