I've done three floorless conversion B&M stand-ups now (is that all of them?) and none of them are super comfortable rides but, at least in the case of Firebird (the only one I've done before and after), it is still an enormous improvement. Definitely not saying that a relocated, floorless Green Lantern would be a flagship coaster, but there are parks in the chain where it would still probably be one of the stronger attractions in said park. Think about, say, SFStL. Swapping the likes of Ninja out for a converted Green Lantern would be a monumental upgrade to the park's lineup.
I can’t recall my experience with Mantis, considering that was the day before Disaster Transport closed and I was 12 at the time, but I rode Rougarou last year and good lord I hope that’s the next coaster to go at Cedar Point.

I’m not one to complain about a coaster being rough, I’ll defend Arrow loopers all day long and I’ll take historic wooden coasters over most B&Ms, but that was the first time in my life that I’ve had to take a break to recover after a ride. Ironically, the next coaster I hit after that break was Corkscrew, I’ve never had an issue with it the way a lot of people seem to.

/\ It’s a roller coaster that was designed to be fun, and for many was. But delightful opinion.

Most floorless loopers, IMO, are still headbangy messes
I have noted over time that floorless coasters are generally not enjoyable (IMO), and it's remarkably consistent.

Most recent for me is Hydra, which I had missed for many many years before recently visiting Dorney for the first time in ages. I had medium hopes for Hydra. Even after adjusting for the odd layout and weak last half of the ride, the experience was still a letdown. Uncomfortable in similar ways to all the others.

Yet B&M conventional sitdowns -- Kumba, Hulk to name two -- are fine. Often similar elements, scales, and speeds. Similar restraints. Different seating of course, not elevated. Super different experience. Considerably better.

I have thoughts about sit-down rides that, one way or another, take away your ability to partially brace against a floor (if any) with your feet. B&M floorless and RMC rides have this in common. Extremities get whipped around more when less effectively braced.

While the same goes for your legs and feet on a B&M invert -- farthest body parts from the track -- that doesn't matter nearly as much.

Anyway, I like Green Lantern as a standup but I'd likely bow out of riding its theoretical floorless conversion.

That's crazy, Firebird wasn't that bad for me either
I actually participated (via Ace) in the press day or whatever it was. I rode it I think 6 times in different seats every time, and it was astoundingly bad in every seat. I wasn't the only one who thought so either. There was a woman who after we got back to the station said something like, "that really beats you up". I also gave it several more chances at various times after it opened. The last time last year. It was still the worst coaster I've ever ridden.

Park Security has been told that November 10th will be the last day of operations for Green Lantern. That entire sector (in addition to the Golden Kingdom) will unfortunately be closed off for Holiday In The Park.

Hope this ride carries on elsewhere. I feel like it’ll be seeing the wrecking ball, though.

Really glad I got back to this park for a nice full day this past September. My only other visit was back in 2003. The place looked a lot different back then, and it’ll look a lot different whenever I next make it out there.

while green lantern is a somewhat controversial ride, its gained a cult following, I hoped that the coaster gets moved to somewhere (la ronde my guess)
I would bet that the trains and parts end up at Carowinds

A cult following of hatred, maybe. Wouldn’t call most of my friends and family enthusiasts and they all hate it at least nearly as much as I do.

If it’s going to be relocated (please just scrap it), Frontier City needs it so much more than any other park in the chain.

Lol someone asked the park about this it's to funny.

I feel with all these emails, calls and chat with Great Adventure that people dont realize that the people they are interacting with are all probably at some central location near the Dallas, TX home office (if not another country) for all SF Parks and are answering questions based off a KB or Run Book corporate has made for them and are just in the dark as the general public.
