Hey all. So I read the 2010 thread here on the Scott Family graves in the France parking lot and I noticed the thread mentioned a possible headstone just to the right off the England entrance. Did anyone ever come to any conclusion as to what it really was? Thanks!

All the information I have ever heard about the elusive gravestone comes from this thread. Ever since reading that post half a dozen years ago, I have looked for the stone every time I go to the England and haven't seen it. As far as I know, no images of the supposed grave marker have ever surfaced.

If anyone has a pic, I'd love to see it too!

I think I finally saw something today while walking in but didn't think to take a picture. I think it could be what the thread was taking about. I def will next time I'm in that lot!

I have also heard of a sword handle that was found in roughly the same area. I wouldn't be surprised if the park is full of grave (pun intended) histories that they don't want to talk about. It's part of why the 2015 Howl-O-Scream theme (Unearthed) fit the park so well.

There are some articles from the early 70s out there somewhere about excavations that were made while building the park. For a while, some of the artifacts found were on display at the old Anheuser-Busch hospitality house. I don't really what they were required to do with those things at that time. It would be interesting to have a history of the land before the park existed, especially without having to look too far back on this site.

I hadn't heard about the sword or other artifacts. I've only fairly recently started to look into the history of the parks land. I have a history background and enjoy mysteries like this so I think a library trip will soon be in order!

I'd be interested to hear what you find. Since that area has such a long history of European habitation (for America anyway), and an extremely long history of Native American habitation, there's likely to be some fascinating history if you can find it.
