One of Great Adventure's opening day attractions which was short-lived but rather unique was the Grand Prix ride.
This electric go-kart track was one of the few of its kind in the US, and offered a fast, fun racing experience around an oval track with all electric vehicles that picked up power from metal rails embedded in the wooden track.
The ride was originally located where the Skeeball Barn/Studio 28 Arcade was built, and it was relocated to the waterfront in 1976 until it was removed to make way for the Buccaneer in 1980.
