Is there some retail place within BGW that has for sale the Washington Post, the Richmond Times-Dispatch or the Daily Press newspapers?

Also, purchasing sunscreen would be a good idea, if I run out of the amount I brought with me. So, is there a store withing BGW that sells sunscreen ?

Thanks.

RE: a "general store" ...

Sunblock -- good to know where to get it. Thanks.

Newspaper -- I had a hunch that was the situation but you never know until you ask. So, I will have to stop off at the lonely 7-11 on Route 60 about two miles before I get to the park.

Thanks.

Roman Rapids gifts also has sunblock.

And no, the park doesn't sell the newspaper anywhere.

And once one brings in the newspaper.......

Does the park currently have any shop which sells cigars? (I doubt it) And if one somehow procures a cigar, where is the best (least offensive) spot to sit and smoke it?

Is there a decent place to smoke where one isn't standing next to the vent of the men's restroom, and can see something interesting or pleasant, and can sit in a chair in the shade?

Last I looked, the park sold pipes and pipe tobacco in Scotland... Also, the park has designated smoking areas throughout; as a non-smoker, I can't say which are the best.

As far as I know, BGW doesn't sell tobacco products in the park. As for the newspaper, they don't carry any but the 7-11 not too far up Pocahontas Trail carries some.

There is a little shop in Scotland across from the horse stables with a sign announcing "pipes and tobacco" or something similar. I believe this is an ornamental sign, having gone in this store after seeing the sign and finding only a bunch of fancy swords and other "Scottish" items. But no tobacco products.

And yes... the park does have smoking areas, but to the extent that I've paid attention to their locations, they seem to be located underneath the dumpsters behind the sewage output pipes from the restrooms, or other less desirable places. (I'm not a smoker, but do enjoy the occassional cigar.) So I wonder if the smokers have found a pleasant place to light up.

It won't be the end of the world if there isn't a good place to light up.

The smoking spot in France looks to be a nice location. its on the side of a building right before Griffon. There is a path that leads to it (and around the building). I don't remember the name though.

They definitely had pipes for sale over there in Scotland, but I don't recall if they had tobacco as well. And there's a nice smoking area in Da Vinci's Garden.

They used to have a cigar store in England by the Emporium. I'm not sure what the place is now, stroller rental or lost and found, but the cigar store used to have a humidor room/closet, and they also used to sell replica swords and other replica medieval weapons there. Also, there is a smoking area behind the glass shop (Emerald Isle Gifts) in Ireland that is decent. It is set away from the main path and away from the bathrooms. It overlooks the wooded area between Loch Ness/Train Track and the back of Castle O Sullivan. My father in-law goes there to smoke his pipe when we go with him because it is the one area in the park that is out of people's way of walking or eating or going to the bathroom.
