The Great Escape has been getting a lot of love in the area of aesthetics. First with the area surrounding ADK outlaw, then the main entrance, Bobcat's beautiful entrance and theming, the raging river and now Flashback. What other elements / areas of the park do you think are next to be renovated?

Additionally the Great Escape posted on their Facebook page that they are giving their storybook houses a "Head-To-Toe Makeover" this off season.

Great Escape is moving along at their sign shop, adding aesthetical touches to their story book houses!

This is only tangentially related, but whoever is managing SFGE's socials is killing it with these consistent park improvement updates. Wild to see all this work featured and advertised while... certain other parks in the chain that shall remain nameless to keep this thread on track... have been so silent.

I wonder if they could tear down the old Nightmare building and put a new coaster there? If they could, that would be a nice spot for a spinning mouse or some kind of “statement” coaster on the hillside. (If only they had a spinning coaster ready to move from a closing Sister park…)

Hmmm... yes I wonder where they could find that. Heck, they could just keep the nightmare building standing as that spinning mouse could probably fit inside. Then they could theme it appropriately to ghost town. That would be a great addition.

Maybe but I would think indoor coaster in an old building wouldn’t look as good or be the sight they’d want to see from outside the park.

It’s a 21 year old coaster, so it may be more valuable as a tax write off than a coaster.

to be honest, I think they should bring back the Splashwater Kingdom theming to their waterpark, idk WHY they thought removing it was a good idea but it doesn't make any sense

Great Escape announced that they "freshened up" the comet trains by sending them to PTC this off season. I wonder if they retrofitted the Comet cars with the retractable seatbelts like the ones on the wooden coasters at Kings Dominion and most other cedar fair parks. It definitely makes for quicker load times :)

You know what would be better? Getting rid of the seatbelts altogether.

Both the train and Canyon Blaster are temporarily closedView attachment 38774
Spoke with a former coworker at the park last week. They are waiting on a part from arrow / S&S to get Canyon Blaster up and running again..

Additionally they had a swan boat sink about 3 weeks ago and the Storytown train engine caught on fire. No one was hurt in either incident and guests were not present. The Swan Boats are running, the Storytown train will be out for a while as the engine was totaled!
