Per this post on Instagram, it looks like Flashback is getting a repaint this Fall, and refresh for 2025.

I believe this is an excellent move by the park. A much needed paint job. Excited to see what the "New Six Flags" does do improve other park aesthetics!

Ride update: The park is currently in the process power washing the Flashback. The paint is starting to come off nicely on both spikes. While it appears the coaster may have been stripped down to its original paint the first spike, in reality, it actually has started to receive it's first coat of new paint!! The new color is a slightly darker turquois compared to the original color the ride opened with as seen on the rear spike.

Here's an additional fun note. The park has taken to adding colorful underlighting to the coaster. Check out these nighttime photos!

I wonder if Great Escape will build a new, more permanent, station canopy or if they will just get another canvas top... any thoughts?

More progress is being made on Flashback. I also spoke with the park's operation manager. There may be a tin roof in the works to replace the canvas canopy formerly covering the station. Additionally, the ride's train is said to remain a red color.

The Flashback track paint is complete and was testing yesterday. There is still work to be done on the station as the railings and air gates are still yellow.

The Flashback will be receiving a brand new train as part of this season's refresh!! I am super pumped about this. Not only will this improve the ride experience but more importantly it demonstrates this park's dedication to the guest experience and corporate's investment in the Great Escape!! Very happy about this

For a park like the great escape, this is a big deal. Makes one of their (admittedly few) coasters infinitely more rerideable

These trains don't make boomerangs great or anything, but, like @the_pantsmith said, they definitely make them ridable which, needless to say, is a huge win. Love to see this.

Another great sign for the park, Great Escape is adding a new control system to Flashback!
I just hope they replace that canvas on the station with a permanent roof and paint the yellow fencing blue!

Something else I noticed... it looks like Vekoma added some reinforcing track cross ties to the lower half of the loop. You can see the extra elements are not painted the dark blue and they were not present in the previous photos taken this fall. Hopefully this can bring greater longevity to the life of the ride and perhaps create an even, albeit marginally, smoother ride!

It looks like TGE is in fact going all out on this renovation. They are adding new air gates and remodeling the staircase. Fingers crossed they will add an entire station structure or at least a solid roof! It looks like they might judging by those 2 white poles on the left side of the station.

I love that it's getting THIS much money and effort! I was expecting paint and trains, not a full ride area update too. Absolutely love to see it.

I hope it's an indicator that the new Six Flags sees a lot of potential in Great Escape. It had long been in a pretty unique position in the legacy chain, but it seemed to suffer a fair bit of neglect as a result of that unique market position. Hopefully this is an indicator that the post-merger chain has a renewed interest in this property!

^Previous management only wanted to maintain attendance at the current level because Six Flags is on the hook for a bunch of road improvements if attendance exceeds a certain level. I need to look at the agreement again, but I believe that agreement kicks in if park attendance goes above 1.2 million guests.

Yes, this is true. Upper management considers this threshold before adding additions.

This refurbishment has me PUMPED!! The amount of love management is putting into this ride is a great sign for the park and its future growth. It looks like the park is in fact doing a comprehensive station refurb, which is great to see!

The way things look moving forward at TGE is that the park is on a great trajectory to be beautified. As long as corporate continues to see potential in this park, I only see these improvements continuing to make a BIG impact when it comes to guest satisfaction and overall park experience. On a side note, I was recently speaking with the director in charge of food and beverage and it seems TGE will be making some investments in this area as well. Way to go TGE.
