Hi! I am an American married to a Dane and living in Denmark. I have not been to BGW since the year Apollo's Chariot which was the year my hubby and I married and moved to northern Denmark! We are planning a trip to the US at the end of September and of course we are planning to visit BGW while we are in the country. I can't wait for my hubby to experience the most beautiful (IMHO) theme park where I have so many wonderful memories from my youth. My question is, besides the coasters of course, what do you all recommend as far as shows, don't miss eateries, etc. Also, what time does the park close on September 29 and will Howl o Scream be happening at that time?
Unfortunately, we will only have one day to spend in the park and we want to make the most of it. We are staying in the Williamsburg Inn for a couple of nights and plan to explore the historic areas as well. TIA for your help! ?

Howl-O-Scream starts September 15 so the event will be taking place if you visit the 29th. If this is the only day you can make it then I suggest (with it being a Saturday) that you get to the park at opening as it will most likely reach capacity. You may wanna consider purchasing a quick queue as well. The park will be open from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. that day.

As far as shows go I believe they will be staging their Howl-O-Scream productions at that time. I'm not sure if the schedule is posted yet but I believe Fiends and Monster Stomp are two of the shows that will be performing in addition to another.

Trappers and Das Festhaus are still two of the usual suspects for main meals at BGW. The only big addition on this front is Marco Polo's Marketplace.

That said, since you were last at BGW, they've added many new, worthwhile snacks. Some community favorites are Josephine's for ice cream sundaes, Les Frites for fries, the pretzel shop in Oktoberfest for, well, pretzels, and M. Sweets Confectionary for donuts.

Plus, on the beer front, things have gotten a lot better too. Both Brauhaus (hidden inside Das Festhaus) and Grogan's Pub have a wide variety of craft beers (and often ciders too).

Thanks so much for the advice. Especially regarding the beer selections. Last time I was there you could only drink at the hospitality center and Das Festhaus and the guidelines were strict to put it mildly. As Europeans, you can imagine how happy I am to hear the restrictions are gone! Lol

As for Howl o Scream, I don't mind getting to the park super early. I just hope it will be far enough away from Halloween that the crowds weren't be too horribly bad and we can enjoy our visit without too many people. I definitely plan on getting the quick queue to alleviate some of this although I understand it's not able to be used on all the attractions.

Everything except for the water rides should be operating, unless they place a maze in the Battle for Eire building, which is unlikely.

Most likely both InvadR and Battle for Eire will not be on the standard quick queue, and possibly Tempesto as well. The unlimited plus will have everything you would need a quick queue for, including newer attractions and the mazes. Busch Gardens outlines which attractions are covered by which type of quick queue on their website when you go to purchase, however Howl-O-Scream quick queues are not yet available.
