Does this thing have modified seats? I need to go activate my shiny new six flags pass and this and Ragin Cajun at the new credits (.............yay) since 2008 when I last went.

Do you mean seats for larger people? I'm not sure, but I don't think so. I'm 6' and about 210 and didn't have any trouble fitting, though actually the last time I rode I was probably more like 230. Not sure if that helps you figure it out or not, but it's a data point. But I despise this ride. So much head banging. My kid and my nephew like it, so I guess it varies by the person.

I haven't been in about a year but I believe there is one in two of the middle rows. Regardless I have ridden it when in the 240 to 250 range if that helps any.

I don't see where he said anything about riding Mind Pounder so I think it's all good.
I really don't think Mind Eraser is that bad. It taps my head a little, but doesn't smack it around like Firebird does. Like it's not even close. Firebird is infinitely worse. I actually enjoy riding Mind Eraser. I'd say it was underrated, mostly because it's just not nearly as bad as everyone says, but I'd probably get attacked, so I won't. lol.

It improved greatly when they redid the harnesses the old OTSR were just horrible.

I totally agree. I don't often ride ME because it can be rough on my head still but I would marathon it before I even got on Firebird for a single ride.

Finally got to ride this in the current floor less form, and could someone explain where all the roughness is on this ride, because I wouldn’t even have guessed this is a rough ride from my experience on it. It’s not buttery smooth but it’s certainly no rougher than most any other B&M of decent age and I found it no different than a ride such as Jokers Jinx.

^^-- JJ would have more headbanging if it had OTSRs but it doesn't. Firebird's drop and loop is shakier than it has reason to be, while not too bad you can get 2 bangs before the third real element. The terrible spot is coming out of the corkscrew, or going into the turn if in front row, but you can learn to brace heavily. It's both rougher and less exciting than most floorlesses, but you can get a little float in the loop in row 5 (not 6) and while my response is mixed, sometimes really enjoy it. The improvement from standup was mostly due to it having such awful bulky restraints in that mode. 50% improvement at most.

Outside of the shakiness, which I would expect for a ride this age, I didn’t experience any head banging with the exception of one really mild case on one of the cutbacks. If I compared firebird to other B&Ms with OTSR, I wouldn’t classify it any worse for roughness, and in the case of rides such as Alpengeist (which I don’t consider that rough), Firebird seemed less aggressive.
