Question is will it happen? I've heard lots of people speculate on how guests would be able to access it, and how tricky it would be since it would go on the west side of the railroad after it crosses the swing bridge. If it will happen, what types of attractions could we see? I know they were considering representing Encanto, Coco, and even Villains.

I think the only way the land would only be accessible is through liberty square by making a pathway around haunted mansion. A pantheon style bridge over that train tracks or a tunnel will have to be made so people can cross. This would drastically affect Tom Sawyer island and the whole vibe of the area. I truly have no idea how they are going to make this project happen. I wonder if we could see the new ride system being used for the Peter Pan ride at Tokyo Disney over here. Apparently it's being used at California Adventure and Hong Kong for their new avengers rides too. I really hope we get something good back there but we are going to have to wait for d23 to hear what will happen.

I used to be a BTM CM. I had been told that the back island that makes up Tom Sawyer Island will be gone sooner rather than later to reroute the Rivers of America. As far as walkway connections, it's Disney. They'll be able to figure it out and then drop the stacks to make it happen.

Or, they will announce a Blue Sky concept for it at D23, which will never see the light of day, and ultimately spend over five years to build something much less interesting. Meanwhile, Uni will have installed two new record-breaking attractions and rerouted a major throughway.

This is just me personally - but I really think more people should question Disneys timelines on construction. Especially as Uni is proving you can do just as if not more immersive experiences on rides with ground breaking items in about 1 year.

Especially the number of projects Disney has announced and dropped. I wish they would undertake the Uni model and not announce anything until work has basically started.

A Zootopia land at Magic Kingdom would be disappointing IMO. Maybe I’m just nitpicky, but I don’t like the idea of an entire land at Disney’s castle parks being themed to a single IP — it just makes those parks feel less timeless and fantastical and more like any other modern theme park. Even Galaxy’s Edge being at Disneyland rubs me the wrong way. But at least Star Wars is an enormous franchise spanning decades with generations of fans and creative, expansive universes. Zootopia is a fun animated family movie (and upcoming sequel), but nothing more than that. It hardly deserves sharing the spotlight alongside such iconic lands as Main Street USA, Fantasyland, etc.

In DL it does.

In Hollywood Studios - I actually love. It. In fact I would be an advocate for HS to become a park that’s a land of IPs. You already got GE and Toy Story. Indiana Jones should get a copy of the ride here and make a mini land out of it. I hope the Percy Jackson series becomes a hit for them because that would make an amazing land.

Heck I have a bigger issue with Pandora/Avitar being its own land in AK over Star Wars getting one in HS. SW expanded universe and legends is so huge you could feasibly make an entire gate out of it.

I thought Zootopia was going to the Animal Kingdom…
I know they are getting a show to replace its tough to be a bug. If Zootopia gets added to MK I think it will just cause further confusion for everyone. Disney really just needs to make their mind up about where things should go and where each IP should go. DO we want an animal themed attraction in the animal themed park or should we put it in the park about magic and fairytales because why not.

I feel like there is enough room back there for multiple mini lands. The Zootopia land at Shanghai is fairly small and only has one ride. Disney could be planning to do villains or coco back there as well. I just have no idea how they will transition from liberty square to zootopia, etc.

Here is zootopia compared to rise. Zootopia takes up almost the same amount of room.

I wonder if this means the WDW Railroad will also be rerouted like it was at Disneyland, with it getting the “river trestle” treatment.

I also wonder what this expansion would mean for Big Thunder Mountain itself. Could it get an upgrades along the likes of DL and DLP as part of the whole thing?

I have no information about new train routes but I was told that in 2025 Thunder is scheduled to get new track and trains. I've also been told by maintenance that this has been skipped a few times. We shall see what actually happens.

Animal Kingdom is rumored to be getting a retheme of Dinoland to Encanto and Dinosaur to Indiana Joes, as its a mechanical duplicate of the Disneyland Indy ride, with the whole focus being South American/Colombian wildlife.

A Zootopia themed show will be replacing "It's Tough To Be A Bug" in the Tree of Life as well

The issue I have with Disney Parks is that someone will stand on a stage at D23, and say, "What if we did this?" Then show off some lavish concept art... that has no way of meeting expectations. It gets the fans riled up, but it's just hard to get excited when they've shown off so much early stuff, only to back-track or downgrade plans. Not everything goes to plan, either (see also: Epcot remodel or Galactic Starcruiser, yesh).

The Magic Kingdom needs more attraction capacity, and this has been true for years. Whatever they do, they should put a rush on it and aggressively expand (pay construction bonuses for met deadlines, etc).

From the announcement on Country Bear Jamboree’s closing date:

We have a lot of growth and investment planned for our theme parks in the coming years and look forward to sharing more announcements about Frontierland.

What could this mean? Could they be moving forward with the expansion beyond? I guess we’ll see.

The food also sucks at Pecos Bill so changing it to Tiana's Kitchen will do wonders if its anything like Disneyland
Interesting. When my family went in 2021, we really enjoyed Pecos Bill. The online ordering + environment right on that corner was great. Now admittedly, we all love Mexican food..
