A Water Country USA employee quit, but the story didn’t end there, police say.
The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office charged Anthony Moore, 52, with destruction of property after police say he quit his job before driving his vehicle through a guest parking lot at a high speed and into an entrance gate, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shelley Ward.
On Sept. 19 at 10:37 p.m., sheriff’s office deputies were called to Water Country USA after Moore was said to have crashed through the gate and drove off, Ward said.
Moore’s license plate was found at the scene, according to Ward.
Damage to the gate was estimated to be more than $4,000, Ward said.
York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office deputies charged Moore with destruction of property, and hit and run, according to arrest reports.
A Busch Gardens Water Country USA spokesperson did not return a request for comment.
