So I guess I wasn't aware of how this actually worked. We were supposed to have ERT on Volcano and Intimidator on Saturday morning. We were in the park gates at 10:15AM. Rode Dominator once and then headed into the park via walkway past Woodstock Express. Were we supposed to go the the Early Entry area before 10:30AM in order to get in for the ERT? I ask because when we got to Volcano, the line was already into the entry area, though it only doubled back once in the actual queue and they had 2 train running, so it went quickly. For future, should we get in before opening for this? It really was not explained very well anywhere. Also, is the main gate for International Street open 30 minutes prior to main park opening or an hour? We were confused by all this.

ERT takes place for a few minutes before everyone else has access to the back area.

On days that the park officially opens at 10:30 am, they generally let people in by about 10:15.  You need to follow the ERT signs all of the way back to the designated rides (usually Volcano and i305) immediately.  There will be a checkpoint set up, where you have to show your annual pass.  You then have 10-15 minutes to ride those coasters, until they let everyone else go to the back of the park. At 10:30 ERT is over.

Okay, so it is really a tiny window to allow pass holders to get in there a little earlier and to the rides. Not really that big of a deal then. We walked onto i305 a bunch of times Friday and Saturday it was maybe a 1-2 train wait max unless you wanted front row.

The park gates open a half hour before posted time. Take the path by woodstock express/dominator. There is a security officer at the rope. Just flash your pass to get back there. Go to the ERT rides (305 and Volcano on the weekend). You get about a half hour before the other non passholders get back there. We have had experiences of back to back rides on volcano and then a ride on 305 with no wait during ERT.

I have never done ERT, when they actually let us soon enough to get to the rides before 1015.

The biggest bonus to ERT is Volcano, as it can stack terribly during the day.

It did get a little long on Saturday when we were there towards 2-3:00. Even with a double back in the line it goes fairly quick, but I'm sure if that whole queue is full it takes forever. It's such a quick ride too, I'd hate to stand there for hours waiting for it. I just couldn't find anywhere on the website where the ERT was explained.

On that note, what is the typical time that International Street opens at the front gates? If it's a 10:30 park opening, is it 10:00 AM?
