Had a long talk with someone from the zoology dept today and he told me that they plan to (could be a year or two) convert the old Eagle's Nest area into a habitat for live Caribou. Pretty sweet.

As a side note, he said VA has extremely strict laws for handling and transporting live reindeer and that's why we haven't seen them at Christmas Town. They're working on it though...

I always thought it would make an awesome petting zoo. It already has a fence, benches, trees, etc. All they would need to do is resurface it.

Call it like the "Caribou Reserve" or something.

I agree with too, that it will make great petting zoo.

I think a caribou exhibit would be a great addition to Christmastown. Placing this exhibit in New France would be ideal. Is the space that Eagle's Nest took enough for an animal exhibit? It would be an outdoor exhibit, so where would be the caribou be kept during the closed times?

Well the Moose Lodge building has long been rumored to be on the chopping block so that gives them another good chunk of land. If they push the fence back some more past the current Eagle's Nest area (which there is plenty of room to do) and replace the Moose Lodge building, there should be more than enough room.

Are you talking about the building across from flume's entrance? They won't get rid of that as it is an office for park operations... I accidentally walked in there one by mistake

Park Ops has a main office by the employee entrance which I am sure is big enough to hold whatever they need for park ops offices. I doubt they would keep it if all it is, is just offices and is just for looks.

If they can find a way to turn that space into profit, they will.

It would be really neat if the enclosure leaked over by the train tracks, similar to the animals in Festa. It would be a pretty creative way to welcome passengers into the CARIBOU train station.

I don't think running over animals with trains is going to fly with the park or the GP...

some higher ups and zoo team members were out at the ol smoking area this morning

I was there on the 11th as well and saw them walking around on the land where Drachen Fire was and pointing at things at about 11 AM. Couldn't tell if any were zoo team members but they were all definitely higher ups, or at the very least looked the part (2 in full suits minus jacket, a lady in office dress, and a few other guys in polo shirts with a small outline of Virginia and some wording on the upper left breast).
