Cartoon Network Hotel is closing on Jan 1st to be converted into Dutch Wonderland Inn, opening in late March 2026: Central Pa. amusement park plans to rebrand cartoon-themed hotel



Good to see some investment and I'm guessing that the Cartoon Network license was up after five years (it opened in 2020).

I'd love to know if these plans were made before or after the Herschend purchase. I definitely don't think the Cartoon Network IP matches with Herschend's vibe so I could certainly see them wanting to pull out of the deal, but I agree with you @paintervision that this could also just be a normally scheduled contract renewal that either side may have just not been super interested in renewing for other reasons too.

Concept art doesn't look great to me but , we'll see.

That part of Lancaster has so many other hotels to compete with and that bland redo will do very little to help them. The Wyndam being across the street really doesn't help either. I think they will need to do a lot to add to the outdoor areas and connect it better to the park.

IDK, I feel like the major issue with the CN Hotel was management. Pages and pages of reviews about closed restaurants, dirty rooms, confused staff didn't exactly inspire confidence. That seems way more important than theming, so I hope they take this opportunity to really focus on the customer experience.

It has to be better than the CN Hotel. We stopped in and walked through the lobby/gift shop in August just to see what it was about. Didn't see any staff around, just a few people that appeared to be staying in the hotel. The gift shop was pretty sad with a fair amount discounted heavily. The real downside is that the whole place smelled strongly of faux strawberry - so much so that we all smelled like strawberries for at least an hour afterward.
