Formerly known as Wayside Grill. Dogwood's Grille made it's debut for the 2021 season with a variety of delicious gourmet hot dogs. Dogwood's Grille is also apart of the dining plan.

Here's the new menu for Wayside Grill.

They also updated the sign out front:

For reference, here's what the old sign looked like: (Credit)

If only this place was on the dining plan.

Strange, in that the menu board photo shows dining plan logo for each combo. Yet, Wayside Grill is not listed in the meal plan section of the park's web site. Might have to clear this up at Guest Services or at the restaurant.

Should this thread be renamed "Dogwood's Grille"? I assume this is the same place.

Does anyone know if any other dining location at KD has Corn dogs?
My 9 year old wanted to get a corn dog the last 3 visits at KD, but Dogwood's has been closed at least the last few weeks.

She's about ready to demand to speak to the manager....

They can't be closed... their park sponsor just advertised for me to go there!

The boardwalk fries location across from the arbor in grove or across from the arcade (near the singing mushrooms) have a corndog and fries basket that I believe is still on the dining plan. The "cart" boardwalk fries don't have the corndogs, only the boardwalk fries in a small building have them.

I thought Dogwood grill got a Winterfest makeover. Could it be the park decided to not put back the regular sign because they were not opening this location for the spring?

Other possibilities could be that the park might shift the hot dog menu to the former Chick-fil-a location? Then use the Dogwood location for another menu/theme? Or the location will not operate for 2023?

I was wondering about the possibility that they just haven’t put back the main season sign back as well.

For what it’s worth, unlike Chick-Fil-A and Subway, Dogwood’s is still listed on the park’s dining locations page.

From what I'm heard, Dogwood's Grille is now permanently closed, and will never reopen (as Dogwood's Grille, with the hot dog menu).

As posted over in the other thread, most of the hot dog baskets are now available at Excavator’s Taters starting this weekend.

From what I was told Chef Dennis was apparently never happy with the quality of the hot dogs. And even though he's not with the park any longer, I guess it was enough to close it.

Apparently the kitchen area is being "revamped". But I don't know what the plan is to open it; that is, if it'll open again in the 2023 season... which would be a shame, as there's so little food options there in Old Virginia.

Honestly though I don't see the closure of Dogwood's Grille being too big of news, as from all the food options added by Chef Dennis, it was definitely the weakest in my opinion.
