Blue Bayou is also not operating this year but is planned to reopen in 2026. Odd that they bothered reopening for 2024 after 4 years SBNO just to close again, but not entirely surprising.

Reopening a park that has been closed for years for a single week and then turning around and closing it permanently again without any warning is a wild choice. What the hell is going on down there?

A last whimpering gasp. I hadn't heard of the park until a year ago via RCDB, and it's sad but unsurprising to see the dry side closing for good. Louisiana's cursed to never have even a cute, small non-water park worth a trip, it seems. Maybe someone plunks down for the boomerang or Galaxi. The biggest casualty is their flat collection, what with all of those older and rarer rides from Chance, Huss, and Eyerly. Hopefully those soon unemployed are okay in coming months.

I had planned to go there when I lived in Alabama, if for no other reason than the fact that the place intrigued me a bit. The pandemic and a blown head gasket in 2 different cars in the span of 12 months delayed my move, and by the time I made it to Alabama the park had been SBNO for a season already.

I do wonder if the Boomerang will be relocated, if not it’ll be the first one to be scrapped barring the unique situation of Zydeco Scream.

I have no reason to think that, if the park were run competently, it wouldn't be viable. What I've seen from their FB page over the last month or so has looked like complete and utter amateur hour. Someone needs to buy this team out of the property.

Blue Bayou has a new operator for 2026. Seems like a positive development. Can't be run any worse...

Blue Bayou under new management

Blue Bayou Waterpark will reopen next spring under new management and a new brand, according to its new operators.

The management deal doesn't extend to Dixie Landin’ though, unfortunately. No clue what the future holds for the dry park now...
