As part of the Tropical Americas land announcement last night, Disney confirmed the replacement of Dinosaur with a new, original Indiana Jones-themed attraction involving a Mayan temple and snakes.

I'm still very much not sold personally on Indiana Jones in Animal Kingdom and am worried that it doesn't sound like this attraction centers animals and or animal issues like attractions at DAK should. That said, I am glad it's not a clone of the existing Indiana Jones rides at least.

This is one of the few things announced that has a real timeline and I would actually bank on happening.

DINOSAUR makes me endure some of the worst dialogue and illogical storytelling in the park for the privilege of being brutalized by the ride system.

Nonsense. Dialogue such as "Left! Right! Left!", "Go! Go! Go!", "Not our dino", and "They're not gonna make it! They're not gonna make it! They made it!" are a masterclass in attraction scriptwriting, and slander will not be tolerated.

Dinosaur (aka Countdown to Extinction) is the worst ride I have ever experienced at WDW. I have never been able to complete this ride. It has broken down on every single trip/visit. We've have walked/been escorted out by cast members from the ride area at least nine times. The final time we didn't even get out of the station. Those ride vehicles are impressive as they are huge. I was surprised at how tall they are. I tried to get some behind the scenes photos, but the cast members and security are pretty vigilante. They put a stop to it right away.

Great news – we have even more time to experience Dinosaur before it closes for the Indiana Jones dark ride!

I assume this is because they will be prioritizing getting the Encanto part of the land spun up which while taking a ride away (and a playground) will add 2, and then they can work on converting that, which should not take much longer than it did to reskin Splash.

In theory it should be less time. Splash was both interior and exterior. Granted the queue is a large part of this ride experience. Hopefully it is as themed as the Disneyland version.

This is interior and exterior, as the outside is being made to look like a Mayan-style temple and the story is not going to be the same story that is at DL.
