This is my dream plan if I had the money to buy the park and do whatever I want to it. Mind you, this is as if I had enough money invested into the park where I did not have to worry about making money (like the old days). Also, this is if I ONLY bought BGW by itself(sorry platinum peeps). The plan is to give it an old world feel, but keep it fresh. I would love to do something with Doctor Who, I think the best thing for that would be to have a TARDIS in the park, but it moves every day. It would be cool for fans, and not overdoing the “out of theme” stuff. I will bring The Doctor up later.
Name change:
Obviously I wouldn’t be able to keep the name, so I would name it European Gardens.
Parking:
FREE!!! Passholders get there own entrance and England and France lots are for Hanicapped, buses and passholders only.
Photos:
Never more than $5 for the print itself. Pick and choose your frames for extra cost, but none of the prices around the park will murder your wallet.
Food:
Keep up the traditions of food in the park. Add new and themed dishes. Lower prices.
We will need actors in the streets throughout the park as well!
Free lockers!
Regular season:
England:
Love it as it is. The Globe, I think, would benefit from a live show, like an Errol Flynn type of action/adventure story. I would love to have Bards in the street, telling stories of lore.
Forest of Fun:
GONE. Bring back and update the petting zoo. Maybe a couple of kiddie rides, like the worm and the coaster, but rethemed to fit. Maybe turn the worm into a pirate ship(in homage to Captain Lucky) and the coaster could be a runaway sleigh type of thing.
Pompeii:
Update! New lift, updated special effects on the inside, that look more realistic, plus I thought about a blast of fire shooting out as the doors open! That would look awesome at night! Maybe a “lavafall” coming out of the front of the building. Goodbye sundial. Goodbye lawnmowers. Keep the snack booth.
Festa:
Goodbye! Hello Greece. Keep Apollo, add themeing. Keep Roman Rapids, but retheme to fit the Mediterranean pirates, and add waterproof “containers” to the center of each boat for riders belongings. Goodbye basketball. Imagine, a Greek buffet…
Da-Vinci’s Garden:
Don’t change a f(*&ing thing! Personally, my favorite place(as a smoker) to stop and relax, have a puff and let the kids knock themselves out on the flat rides! Maybe expand the little drink stand to have snacks and such. The closest place for popcorn right now is Oktoberfest. Also, street performers. Jugglers and acrobats that show up (seemingly) at random.
San Marco:
Make the seated dining area full service. Have a retractable covering for the stage area, so shows can continue rain or shine. I would like an operatic show, maybe a 3 Tenors type of thing. There is a group on America’s Got Talent called Forte that I think would be perfect. Has anyone ever watched the bakers in the windows? I love these little details!
Oktoberfest:
Have Cloris Leachman as a full time actress, walking around as Great Gam Gam Von Wulfhausen…
just kidding…but it would be awesome!
Goodbye Mach Tower, hello year round Curse of the Black Forest! An indoor walkthrough that makes you feel as though you were trapped in the Black Forest, and you stumble upon Gunter! Is that the wind, or the spirits? Was that a wolf? Mix special effects, animatronics and actors!
Goodbye Entwined, hello full time This is Oktoberfest! Update and reanimate DarKastle. No more Godd*&ned Peter Cottontail! Goodbye soccer game. Bring back the umpah band in there little gazebo thing, and put it where soccer is, instead of behind the swings. In Festhaus Park, I shall put the BGW Memories Museum!
Rhinefield:
Kept the way it should be, traditional shopping experience, goodbye Puma!
Land of the Dragons:
Goodbye, hello Grimm’s Hollow 2.0. Bring the the Entwined 1.0 costumed characters to utilize the stage, and visit with the kids. Install a better water ride. All themed to Grimm’s fairy tales.
New France:
Kept as is, with performances from trick shot artists and logger skills shows.
Aquitaine:
STREET PERFORMERS!!! Plus add theming to Griffon, like the village that NetDvn came up with here. Bring back a show to Royal Palace like Kinetix or Imaginique. Full service restaurant!
Wildlife Reserve:
I love it as is.
Killarney:
Definitely need a show, a magical show, inside of O’Sullivan, complete with audience participation. Keep the Irish dance and song shows in Abbey Stone. Killarney Street Band!!! Corkscrew Hill 2!
Scotland:
Scottish pipe and drum band in the streets. Let’s give Nessie some love and upgrade everything! Including some special effects in her lair!
Other events:
Illuminights:
GONE! But there will be firework nights thoughout the summer, just not every night.
Food & Wine Festival:
On in full force, plus, take customer reactions seriously and add the wanted stuff to the regular menus! If they already have the souvenir wine glass, that is a discount at every other booth!
Howl-o-scream:
Change the name to European Frightmares! Theme the hamlets to…the hamlets! Use stories and folklore from the actual countries when decorating and building houses. Scare zones in full effect. 13 and up after 6pm. From opening until 6pm there will be trick or treating for the kids 12 and under , who may be in the park in costume until the 6pm cutoff. EuroFright will be half priced for children 12 and under without passes. If you are 13 and up and want to stay for the fun, you must get a wristband upon entering the park and not be in costume! Each year have a new house, designed by a celebrity! Theme the shows as well, make it a whole hamlet experience! In the Globe, though, definitely a Doctor Who show, hopefully starring one of the Doctors! (MY DREAM)
A little more detail on the Hamlets.
England: Keep Ripper's Row! The end.
Scotland: Banshees, bloody banshees! Great for bungee scares, big screams from actors! Also, make people use the extended queue on Nessie, to add a scare zone, make it like the people were attacked by Nessie and brought back for medical treatment.
Ireland: Sluagh – Sluagh are scary creatures that hunt down souls.
According to Irish folklore, Sluagh are dead sinners that come back as malicious spirits.
You can base a whole house around this as well, where you face Balor, the Celtic Demon King. Projections on smoke as an effect. Use black lights and iLLuminate style effects. Call the house "Balor's Keep".
Wildlife Reserve: Parkour guys dressed as ghost wolves flying around the area. Basically turn it into a scare zone, using trained birds to swoop in the dark! Maybe convert the aviary into a bat cage!
France: I like Paris burning and the catacombs are a staple in Paris. Keep it the same(minus the DJ)
New France: 2012 version, complete with Werewolves and the spiders.
Rhinefeld: Winter in the Alps = Yetis. snow monsters everywhere. An ice cave walkthrough, frozen zombies/climbers, rumble rooms with the threat of avalanche and a yeti.
Oktoberfest: Stick with vampires. Turn Bitten into Vlad's castle(not Vladtastic). Have torture rooms where virgins are being bled, vamps feeding off of bodies, go with the gore!
Italy: Ghosts of Roman soldiers and italian sailors, complete with a roman torture area.
Greece: Greek myth is full of monsters, use as many as you can, e.i. Medusa, Minotaurs, etc. Make the maze, The Cursed Odyssey, complete with sirens and a cyclops.
Pompeii: Everyone who has turned to stone from the eruptions of Vesuvius are coming to life. Beware the walking dead of Pompeii!
ChristmasTown:
Is now Holidays in the Gardens. Explore the different winter holiday traditions from the hamlets. Plenty of minty hot chocolate(CK)! Plus, it is half priced park admission, and free for pass holders. It is supposed to be an shopping experience under the lights and wonder. Mostly local vendors. If people have to pay a lot to get in, then they will not want to shop as much, and how are we supporting these local vendors if people spend there wad getting in? Horse drawn carriage tours. Santa, I was so impressed by him last year. Carolers in each Hamlet, plus keep the awesome shows going!
There it is, what do you all think?
