Don't know if anyone has seen this article on a possible 1,000 tall roller coaster

The record-setting coaster will need to be built on a swath of land large enough to accommodate the amount of track needed for the launch and run out on either side of the 1,000-foot precipice.

From the article's description, it seems like it's a launch -> top hat -> brakes ride. Given the fact that it would apparently break speed records too, and is designed to endure high g-forces, I think that rules out some tame ride that happens to be on a tower, or a ride that slowly meanders to the ground.

There are very few specifics about the ride given - the manufacturer and location are both secret, but apparently "the progress is quite well along" and "the final international location [is] yet to be announced," so that could either mean:
1. Someone has already committed to building this (the location that is yet to be announced) and everything is secret until announcement
2. They have someone interested in the project and are in the process of working out details
3. They are still working out details of the product and no one is interested in building it, aka 'location is yet to be announced'
So yeah, they've basically given us no information on that front.

Edit: Re-reading the article, they say they are "looking for a theme park willing and able to build [it]," so it seems they don't even have any possible buyers.

This also makes me wonder whether this unnamed manufacturer is some new ambitious startup company or an established manufacturer looking to push boundaries. Either way, it will be interesting to see whether this goes anywhere.

Considering how expensive Falcon's Flight was for 500' - granted it has a few other elements and a cliff wall to take advantage of - I can't see anyone splurging for anything like this.

Well, Falcons Flight also has almost 14,000 feet of track and three launches, while this proposed coaster (if the only element is a top hat) would likely have far less than half of that track length, as well as only one launch. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think an official price has been released for Falcons Flight.
