I actually think the alterations are really tasteful—which is not something that can be said for most of Disney's past temporary castle changes...

I think these are permanent changes like the recent updates to Sleeping Beauty's Castle at DL

Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland looks incredible and bright, so I'm very excited that Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom is getting the same treatment.
 
Im guessing they wont go too over the top with color so the projections still look good.

Artists renderings often are what they think would be visually good, but operationally with applying light it may have to be changed slightly to a happy medium for both. Look at just about every "artist rendering" Disney does, almost always what we get is diffrent than what was shown. GrandpaD I wasnt saying anything was wrong with the rendering I was just saying that there probably wouldnt be any bold colors used.
 
Oh thank God we're not going through that again! The 25th anniversary cake design was a choice.
