Hey everyone!  I'm going to be heading over to christmastown for the very first time thi upcoming monday.  Its my first trip to bgw since big bad wolf closed and as I said my first trip during christmastown.  Looking for any and all suggestions or things to do that may be little known.  My plan as of now is to hit all of the shows and verbolten, but anything else y'all know willbe greatly appreciated!  Thanks

All the flat rides except for water rides and DarKastle are open as well. There are nice views from Nacht Tower.

Whatever you do, be sure to get the hot chocolate. The souvenir mug is your best bet.

For adults the Glühwein provides a nice kick in the pants and the ceramic souvenir mug is pretty cool. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but I find the food at Trappers Smokehouse the best for CT. I do miss the brisket platter and brisket is only available in a small amount on the sample platter. I haven't tried the ham and turkey Christmas meal, but the ham and turkey sandwich on cranberry bread is very nice. It's hard to find fault with any of the shows, but I really go to view the lights and spend time with friends. I have a hard time choosing one hamlet over another for the best light show.

Are the stairs between Scotland and Germany open to traffic as I heard they would be? It was closed on opening night and I didn't check again this past Sunday.

Anyone have a strong preference for the lights in any one hamlet?

Eat at the Festhaus but you might wanna get there around 5:15.  If you get an early dinner you beat some of the crowds and the lines are extremely short. Plus, a show goes on!

Grimm's landing and heart attack hill are not open. It would have been nice to have that as a short cut during the $12 days.

Celticdog is correct. This is much to my chagrin as I was looking forward to getting some pictures from down there. Strangely enough though, the map on the Christmastown website still shows it as open. I too would really love to know why they made this decision.

Edit: I have attached the map ,in case it is updated, for posterity.
