Rumor are circulating that corporate is looking at possibly returning chain restaurants to KD. Directly mentioned in this rumor circulating amongst employees is that SF would be transferring the license for Johny Rockets from SFA to KD and converting Juke Box to one. The reason given for this in the rumor is that the operating agreement has 3 years left on the contract an that relocation to KD would cost about the same as breaking the contract. No idea how solid that rumor but sources that are normally credible are saying the believe it's possible.

This would suck ass. Juke Box turning into Johnny Rockets would be only minimally disruptive to the theme, but chain restaurants replacing uniquely themed park restaurants is always a bad thing.
I agree. The large chain restaurants are both a money and aesthetics sucker for the company.

The one caveat I have are the smaller franchise locations like Starbucks and Cinnabon at the legacy cedar fair parks. I feel those brands in particular actually promote quality.

well, the rumour says that the operating agreement has 3 years left, maybe Johnny rockets in juke box diner will be temporary as they can retheme to fit it in with candy apple grove (I like to see a candy apple grove themed bar)

There is a candy apple grove bar over close to the Carasel

so, what other options once 3 years came?, a restaurant like yum yum palace/grannys from great adventure?
There could be any number of possible answers to that from renewing the deal to a different chain to reverting back as is no way of predicting what they would especially as it's not even known for sure that they are doing it just that it's rumored to be under consideration.

I’m going to be honest, this would be destructive to the culinary leaps this park has made in the last few years. They made it a point to cut the chain restaurants—Chick-Fil-A, Subway, and Panda Express to name a few—and it has done amazing things. We got Grain & Grill, Firehouse BBQ, and Outpost Cafe.

The Subway appears to have been replaced with an expanded refill station.

Grain & Grill brought better, healthier items than Panda Express served by introducing fresher meats, preparing everything in house, and a better overall meal.

Firehouse BBQ brought in a style of food the park didn’t previously invest well in—BBQ. The food offerings there have been fantastic and have always looked good each time I’ve visited.

Outer Hanks went from my least visited to one of my most visited restaurants with the transformation into Outpost Cafe, specifically drawing me in with the Prime Rib offering. The food there, while it has been cut down a tiny bit (Prime rib is NOT cheap), is still very good.

Even Jukebox Diner & Jungle Market Eatery saw their menus get overhauls with higher quality ingredients and a new menu item or two. Overall the park’s food quality is significantly better than it used to be 10 years ago, and bringing in Johnny Rockets, while it wouldn’t be that different theme-wise, would likely bring down the food quality that Jukebox Diner currently serves, and overall make it feel cheaper than it currently is.

KD spent plenty of time trying to correct their image from the 90s and the restaurants were part of that. Johnny Rockets quite frankly doesn’t belong in KD.
