Knott’s Berry Farm has quietly rolled out a new pay-per-ride option that charges $7.50 and up per individual ride as part of the Fast Lane front-of-the-line program.

In the coming months, Cedar Fair plans to roll out the Single‐Use Fast Lane pass option at Carowinds (March 8), Dorney Park (April 12), Kings Island (April 19), Canada’s Wonderland (April 20), Cedar Point (May 4) and Schlitterbahn water park (May 18).

The SeaWorld parks in Florida have done the same for a while— single ride single use Quick Queue. Don’t want to stand on that line, pay to cut one time. It’s a great thing for people who really just want to ride that one new thing. Especially passholders…

I would prefer parks dump the all day fast passes and just go the single use route. It would better price the line jumpers economic impact on the remainder of guests without taking away the line jumping option. In my view the all day passes are either not priced high enough for crowded days or are a dud value wise on light crowd days.

I wish this would come to KD... My 42in preschool pass holder only needs it for 1-2 rides. Both of us parents add season-long ones to our passes but can't do that for the preschool pass and it would be cost-prohibitive anyway. Single use would be MASSIVELY more economic for us.

Cedar Fair has been trialing this at several parks last year, I saw them at Dorney Park, Canada's Wonderland, Kings Island, and Cedar Point. I don't have an issue with the concept as a whole, as long as they don't oversell them.
Hopefully, they will decrease the number of all day fast lanes sold, as Cedar Point already sells an unbearably high number number of FastLane+. (That is an option statement, there is no need to tell me I don't have the data to decide if fast lanes are oversold.)

The two rides at Dorney Park the single use fast lane was trialed on was zWild Mouse (low capacity ride- usually under staffed, the seat belts take most people a while to buckle in, and the ride attendants now have to retreat behind barriers before they can move cars) and Steel Force (which has not seen three train operation in years).
