Another survey, the B&M dive and wing seem pretty predictable for Carowinds, but I thought the inclusion of the Premier multi-launch was really interesting. Not mad at that choice at all, it would absolutely feel different from Copperhead, but I'm pretty surprised to see them look into one given their last major coaster was also an inversion focused launch coaster.

They're also looking at an S&S Screamin' Swing and Zamperla Giga Discovery, and I think either one would be an absolutely perfect addition for them.

Give me American AlpenFury now. I know Caro has Copperhead Strike, but I don't care. Caro's neighbor to the north got a wing and its neighbor to the south should get a dive. I'm not against the family launch coaster here either though. I can see it working well.

But... American AlpenFury—it's just instantly the right answer no matter the question.

EDIT: @wasteman beat me. Threads merged!

I’d make the 3 hour trip considerably more often if Carowinds got a modern Premier launch. I do still need to ride Copperhead, but for now, hitting other parks as part of otherwise unrelated trips is looking a lot more appealing.

I think there’s a real world scenario where all four of these coasters get installed here, but If we got an American version of AlpenFury at Carowinds. Hooo boy.

I like that launches are becoming more common at parks. I think in a park full of traditional chain lift coasters (including the largest in the world) you can add launch coasters back to back to back.

AlpenFury provides a different enough experience compared to Copperhead to warrant building one at the park. The capability of Premier's ride model to have intense, punchy launches and higher intensity forces really would compliment Copperhead's slower, hang-time focused layout.

That being said, a Yukon Striker style dive would be a phenomenal addition to the center of the park. I would hope for something bigger than Iron Menace / Dr. Diabolical / Wrath or Rakshasa, though.

Am I the only one who’d prefer the Wing to a Dive. I’d rather see a Tilt be built at Carowinds

Wings aren't bad but Dollywood and Kings Dominion have one (lift and launch varieties), so it should be something different than those two.

Maybe something like Forest Predator where the last car is reversed on every train? Or some other way to stand out.

First time in many years I didn’t get a survey and thankful I got to see it on here. We really need a centerpiece attraction with capacity this time unlike Nighthawks.

I know this park has several other high capacity coasters, but I’ve always believed that any coaster in a prime position at the front of the park (read: the Nighthawk plot) needs to be relatively high capacity, which turns me off the premier launch for their next coaster (since whatever it is will almost certainly go there). Ditto for the discovery, that ought to be placed somewhere else

Based off of EltoroRyan’s most recent video on Tormenta, it sounds like Cedar Fair was looking into adding a dive coaster before the merger. I think, of the options provided, a dive coaster will be the most likely addition. With that being said, I echo the sentiments of other folks that a tilt coaster would be preferable, especially as they seem equally reliable. I worry that, given Iron Menace was the option provided in the survey, they’re going for the smaller model.

I think a tilt coaster would make more sense if they are opting to re-use Nighthawk’s station, given its width, but nothing is guaranteed at the moment.

It'll be interesting to see if these concepts are what they have cooked up as possibilities for the next coaster, or if these are for after the next coaster. It's been over 6 years since Copperhead Strike opened, I would be shocked to find out that there isn't a coaster currently in development that existed before this survey.

For reference, Cedar Fair locked in Copperhead strike in / before 2016.

I personally am still on the "New woodie comes next" train / cope.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if there was something in development at some point that was either scrapped, pushed back, or moved to another park after the merger. It seems to me like they're really prioritizing building up the under-invested legacy Six Flags parks at the expense of new additions into the already well performing legacy Cedar Fair parks. I know El Toro Ryan said Tormenta was at one point planned for Carowinds pre merger, and that would make a lot of sense to me.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we're seeing another Valravn / Yukon situation with Tormenta. With Carowinds' 2026 addition looking more like a 2027 one with each day that passes, 2028 is probably our year to finally break the thrill coaster drought.

The fact there's probably a planned, close to being built giga dive layout designed for Carowinds out there is hilarious. SFOT clearly needs the attraction more, so I'm glad it was moved.

Hate this merger! Carowinds is taking L after L.

Six Flags might be shifting its focus to SFOT if it is seen to be a park with greater potential for growth than Carowinds. While WinterFest at Carowinds has been considerably cut back, SFOT had quite a bit added to its Holiday in the Park for 2025 (apparently using decor from Kings Dominion's former WinterFest).

There is clearly minimal capital to spare this year on expansions, and SFOT is grossly underinvested in for its market. That park deserves the Carowinds-style area-by-area revitalization, especially with the competing Universal Kids Resort opening next season.

That being said, Carowinds is still an appealing property in a region that is continuing to see large amounts of growth, close to the corporate headquarters. I'm not sure that Six Flags has just one "main" focus at this point in time, with numerous large capex projects at other prime parks in good markets.

As for the next coaster - a kickass premier launch in the Nighthawk / Vortex plot, maybe even out to a ripped out Paladium... If it can't be a woodie.
