All Cedar Fair parks are doing that though. The announcements are literally the same with a different backdrop and the GM's "signature."

Call me when they do what Knott's is doing.

But there are doing, and responding, with something. I wanna' see Seaworld doing anything near this level. :( Knott's response definitely makes me want to check that park out in the future.

I'd love to get a count of how many BGW members are in NC. I know it is a significant number by the hints I see in posts. Then, I'd like to hear why they choice BGW over CW. I know historically what my answer would have been. I had a VERY low option of CW since Paramount got it, but CF has done an over the top job of changing that opinion. And BGW has done the same, but in the opposite direction.

Oh look, a park I ACTUALLY get emails from (unlike that once great northern park ?). Too bad it's sad news. Same conditions as Kings Dominion. I can't believe I'm seeing Carowinds, and Cedar Fair, do it better then BGW. These are strange, strange times.

I got the same email from KD. I have a gold pass.

I assume you signed up for email updates at both parks? (Reason I am asking is that I am thinking the emails are generated from whatever park you signed up for; getting their newsletters/notifications, etc by email. It is not a automatic park chain wide notification. I assume you have a Platinum pass? Did you purchase it (in person/online) from KD or CW? That might be a factor as well.

S'all good. I was complaining about never receiving an email from BGW in a thread over there. Everyone doesn't read ALL those threads.

Could Carowinds save Christmas?

I’ve been MIA since that devastating news in August that KD’s Halloween Haunt and WinterFest would not happen this year, but I HAD to see what you guys thought of this rumor I saw on Screamscape regarding WinterFest 2020 at Carowinds.

To keep it short, North Carolina’s governor is allowing theme parks to operate at 30% capacity, which means that Carowinds could technically open for WinterFest if they wished. Since this news, the cameras on their website have shown lights going up on some buildings in the park and they have added job postings to their website as recently as October 10th for various positions around the park.

Do you guys think that Carowinds could do a limited WinterFest this season? Would you go if they did? I definitely would! I know that Carowinds had already announced that they wouldn’t be opening at all in 2020, but I do wonder if this recent news could change that. I think it would be smart to try to squeeze some money out of this year with one of the most popular events the chain puts on!

Considering they are already hiring back employees and based on the official park webcams, lights are going up, it’s pretty much confirmed. I think the real question is what rides will be open, as we’ve seen parks in CA open up as pure zoos, void of any attractions due to a lack of regulation from the state. The park could theoretically draw more people if this is just a pure Christmas event with no rides and possibly get around the capacity limit. However, looking at the jobs list the park is looking for rides associates so this theory has no credibility. I’m almost certain with CF conservative strategy of keeping the parks closed or refusing to host special events, looking right at you KD, that they are in desperate need of some revenue and opening up one of their most popular parks during an extremely popular holiday season is a great move to try and lessen the economic burdens that this year has brought on.
